Yes it looks like latest iOS doesn't require "Experimental" setting, but you still need to add nsec.app to homescreen for push to work. The problem is that this new iOS seems to not deliver the pushes properly, and I haven't figured out why yet. So basically, right now you'll just have to keep an nsec.app tab open.

New iframe-based signing coming to nsec.app and nostr-login!
Many of you have tried nsec.app and had issues. It might be slow and unreliable, because it involves talking over relays and waking up the signer using web push. iOS users had to keep nsec.app tab open to make it work.
Now check out this demo:

Basically, client app (or a library like nostr-login) can embed signer (nsec.app) as an invisible iframe and talk to it using browser APIs. Talking to your keys no longer involves relays or web push - it's instantaneous! Works perfectly fine on iOS Safari.
We're releasing the updated nostr-login on https://npub.pro, https://nostr.band and on https://primal.nostrapps.org for you to try it. If all goes well and public scrutiny doesn't kill this, we'll publish the new nostr-login on unpkg and every app using it will get a boost with nsec.app.

Thanks for the input. Native apps don't really have to rely on dns like web apps and are already much less restricted and harder to censor at transport level. Those are much better censored at app store level and hence my focus on the web apps. Pkarr being cache seems like a bug, not a feature - if resolving HAS to use cache middleware to be reliable then it's less decentralised, and 10m nodes turn to 1. It looks like unless this becomes a web standard browsers won't benefit fundamentally. I thought about this much less than you did so this isn't a criticism, just thinking out loud.

I am long time fascinated by mainline DHT, and it's cool you are experimenting with it. Can we talk about browser js not being able to access DHT directly? User needs to set a custom dns server, which is quite a barrier, and is the middleman that can censor or be censored, is that right?
We could have a custom relay that could query dht for user's outbox relays and fetch requested events from there, acting as dht bridge for web apps. But then it's no different from existing indexer relays that clients hardcode for discovery.
We could also have a custom dns server resolving npubs to their outbox relay. But again users won't change their dns settings.
I go back and forth on this and still don't see what is fundamentally solved by this use of dht, at least for the web. Am I missing something?

Nsec login definitely doesn't make much sense, aside from "bunkers are high friction for now so Damus users should just paste nsec". This will improve as bunkers improve, I will share a significant step forward in this area next week.
Local nsec signup makes total sense - let users start asap but then let them export nsec to a bunker. Nostr-login widget has this option built-in, only works with nsec.app for now but will be proposed as NIP upgrade when we are confident it's good enough.

The issue on our end is fixed - comments on long-form posts published from context menu ("quote" etc) weren't visible - didn't have 'a' tag. But we've also discovered that other apps are having the same bug - Amethyst shows their comments, but we don't (and shouldn't). We've reported to Nostur and Nos about the issue.

To decide what's included on the site you use "Content filters" - you should specify your hashtags there. Only posts with those hashtags will be pulled into the site. All of them will be included on the homepage.
But some people want to be even more selective even more with their homepage, i.e. "posts with #bitcoin and #nostr should be somewhere on my site, but homepage should only show #nostr". Then you go to "Homepage settings" and choose #nostr there - posts with #bitcoin will still be visible on the site, and you can i.e. add /tag/bitcoin to navigation to direct people there.
Does this make sense?

Navigation is completely detached from hashtags - we just pre-populate it based on your hashtags, but you can include anything there, including external links.
Point particular post to "sub-page" (some custom url) is coming soon.

"Homepage hashtags" is when you only want a specific hashtag posts appear on homepage (but other posts still pulled in and discoverable through menu or from homepage posts).
I can see your "another Alexandria" post on the homepage now. There might be some delay with server-side rendering of new posts. Local renderer living in the service worker should catch them faster, after the worker starts from the first page load.

Server should provide two api endpoints, one accepts npub and should send the one time code as dm. The other one accepts the code and should either set a cookie, or return some payload identifying the session. Nostr-login will pass that payload with onAuth event so you could use it to make future api calls. Codes should be bound to npub and expire

Sql works with indexes, without them it won't help. To add proper index you add single letter tag. If you want joins then all you are asking is for relay to bear the weight for you. Just denormalize your data, add a tag, and make life easy for both sides

Hi I've fixed it, there was a real mess with your sites somehow, need to improve that stuff. Your site is now available under your domain. Normally you'd just enter your username to the client and it would open the connection screen of nsec.app. If client is asking for "bunker url" (or just not allowing username) then go to nsec.app, open Connect app modal, choose "Advanced" and copy "bunker url". The "connection string" is nostrconnect:// string which most apps don't yet support.
