I was a software engineer for 20 years and I quit/retired last May at 42. The biggest revelation I've had since is that you don't realize how much 40hours a week really is.
Now I have so much time to work on things that I actually want to do. We have our podcast, @nprofile…5wle, and now we're starting a business, @nprofile…fwta, all while raising our toddler.
I say all that to say, get your time back first. If you're a Bitcoiner, you'll figure out the rest.

@npub1yz8…post went viral today for #Nostr standards and I got me thinking...
One of the things @npub1yz8…pxp7 first noticed when we started @npub1627…3aec was just how isolating it can be as a solo #bitcoiner. Today made me think that we may be compounding that effect being on #nostr. I haven't seen anyone else talking about this #tiktokban and how it is proving the power we all hold. They organized on #tiktok and made an app famous overnight.
Telling people to "get on Nostr" isn't working.
We need to definitively say "get on {app}". We know it doesn't matter which one it is, but for people who are just looking for a new social media app they don't value that value prop. They do value "nobody can take this one away from you" value prop. we should lead with this.
Thankful for normies like my wife who try to be the bridge for these two worlds. She is why @npub17vs…66ne exists. We are literally building an app to market to the soon to be #tiktok refugees

I've been outlining a book called The "Bitcoin" Prince. Written to my son, it's a "how to carry yourself" when he inherits our stack. We need to raise our kids to understand what it means to inherit #bitcoin. People are going to hate him more than the billionaires today because he inherited wealth that his parents "got lucky" with. But if you carry yourself a certain way people will come to understand that it wasn't luck and how our children carry themselves will be the proof.

I'm 42 and I "retired" in May this year because of #Bitcoin. My wife is probably retiring this year so we can both work on @nprofile…fwta full time.
Without Bitcoin we had at least 15 more years of working for someone else before retirement that's a lot time away from our toddler that we would never get back.

As @nprofile…aymf and I work on and talk about @nprofile…fwta every night now, so many dots are connecting in my head.
For example, who here has watched/read The Expanse? I love how they use space as plot device. When Holden tells everyone what is going on in the first book, no spoilers, he literally broadcasts a message to the entire solar system. Any and everyone could receive the message. But not everyone even listens to the systemwide frequency. Later in the series when he and his crew are hiding from the "bad guys", they resort to point to point communication. This requires you to aim your broadcast in a specific direction towards who you want to hear your message. But in order to do that you need to know where to aim. And if someone is in-between the sender and the receiver, they could still possibly intercept the message. But they would still have to break the encryption.
#nostr is the only type of communication protocol that will work as we migrate to the stars. The idea of centralized communication will be laughable to anyone on a spaceship in the future.
"Wait, so I have to send a message all the way to earth to send a message to Jupiter. But I'm already halfway to Jupiter."
Everyone can broadcast, everyone can listen and receive. It is up to the individual what information is important not an algorithm.
