New rule: if I observe bugginess in a nostr client, I report the bug and switch to a different client on that platform.
Everything is too buggy.
Going to give jumble.social a try. Primal.net tries and fails to upload videos, and frequently gives a "can't connect to your relays" message when I try to post.

One of the worst parts of writing software for Apple platforms is downloading Xcode. Their TOS basically requires you to auth in order to download it. Stuff like https://github.com/XcodesOrg/xcodes has evolved to make this easier, but you still need to provide it your AppleID username and password which is absolutely insane.
I wonder @nprofile…uvay could start distributing Xcode? I don't see why not. This could pretty quickly become the easiest way to install Xcode which would be a pretty big deal ...

You write your UI in platform-native options like SwiftUI or Jetpack Compose. You could also write it in React Native or Flutter. But honestly I don't think they are worth it. When the UI is a pure function you can vibe-code it. Your application is written and tested in Rust.
The UI above was a Cursor one-shot based on this TLDraw diagram. Notice how it put the "choose mint" screen in the wrong place. History screen was also broken so commented it out.
Forget React Native and Flutter!

I’m not sure if there’s Julia at runtime or not. The websocket server is rust and all data I’ve seen so far is fetched from Postgres functions by rust. Julia seems to be used just for data crunching which is what it’s good at so not such an unusual choice.

On the “how to explain to devs point” I think by far the best approach that I’ve seen is having a clone of every social app that works almost as well as the original, which can all be installed and tested in like 15 minutes by the “intelligent dev”. It doesn’t really seem like bigger dev ecosystem is necessary to get there, but if it got there then tons of new people would show up imo.
