I've never really grasped hypercores, slashtags, pkarr, etc... beyond the fact that they all use DHT's.
For now, I don't have any use case or need for any of it neither. And it indeed seems likely that won't change anytime soon.

Why? I don't see much proof of this.
1. Mints are very different from content, relays, niche services, ... Unlike with those, there's very little design space for them to be anything else than a commodity.
2. Without the mint auth'ing you (and thus turning it into a bi-directional relationship), what's stopping most users from just going with the fastest, cheapest, hardest one? What exactly breaks that centralizing feedback loop?
Hard-coding apps to stay away from mints that have over XXX reserves?
Then you probably end up with the same centralization, just more hidden across "different" mints.
3. Me and you using the same mint is the cheapest, most friction-less option. Scale that to all the other profiles in our networks and the incentives are there for us all to use the same mint.
This is why I'm interested in solutions that by default limit a mint's scope to groups of people explicitly trusting each other in some way.
I don't see many other decentralizing forces besides that.

Depends what your goal is.
You can just share the Npub like you do for users.
But most will instead want to invite others to experience a community **in a specific app**. For that there's several options:
For Web Apps you can share a URL of the group/community:
- this link can be personalized to the receiving user
- this link can end with the npub so other apps can pick up on it
For Native Apps I'm currently breaking my head on how I want to do this. I have this strong hunch that there's something really awesome that you can do when the community **is** a relay/media server. As in:
- it has a domain
- it can store events, file hashes and even the files (apk's etc...) itselves
- it can whitelist npubs (throw-away npubs included) for access to those events and files
- with cashu you can even set a little starter's budget aside for the invitee

I use the "Chats" screen as a "Notifications + New Stuff" dashboard.
And I use emoji as icons for the various content types 🙈 .
So it can get crowdy in there if the messaged emoji are full colour.
This works though:

We already have the simplest solution to this:
1. Signed DM's (NIP-04)
2. Great encryption (NIP-44)
3. Relays
The relay part is often overlooked, but:
- it keeps both the secrecy maxi (personal inbox-relay over Tor f.e.) and the total newbie (free public relay) interoperable
- it gives agency to npubs to manage their own trade-offs
- it lets them set prices or other conditions for their inbox
- it's incredibly easy for apps to maintain their interoperability
Also, it doesn't pretend to be a tool for secrecy.

The people that say "We need a Telegram replacement" are the ones that are **not** using Simplex (or even Signal) yet. That's probably because the whole ratchet, super secret aspect is terrible UX for them. Doing more of that, but worse, on Nostr isn't going to be very attractive to them. And even less to the Simplex users.
What can be attractive to both groups, however, is the completely novel experiences that interoperable relay-based groups allow for:
Ownership, Organic discovery, Infinite content types (that all have a reply section), friction-less payments (price lists, bill splits, zaps, ...), etc...

If Simplex already does this (and arguably way better) then why would this bring people to Nostr?
There's nothing novel here. Not even for the supersecret activists. Also, why would they even want to tie their npub to any of it?
Ratchets are crappy UX on an open protocol rich in all these other content types.
All this quadruple ratcheting also ignores Relays as more efficient and interoperable solutions for 90% of what they're trying to do.
Chat relays, btw, are where an actual UVP can be found. They can be the Telegram 10x experience you encryption-schene-geeks keep hyping people into.

Sorry yeah, I get the fractional reserve part. But that would be a silly strategy anyway. If I was running a mint and nobody knew me, I'd go full reserve upon till the second I'm zero reserve.
Besides community #cashu mints (which I'm stoked about btw) I didn't come across any strategy that protects against the 1 second rugpull.

I have a very similar goal and a service like Relay.tools has almost everything already to make groups on relays happen. And it works.
NIP-29, however, overcomplicates everything by not having a 1:1 relaytionship with the group and copy pasting big-tech UX (Telegram etc...) that doesn't make sense on Nostr. None of the current apps work or have a clear goal. So why would relay services bother?

1. Fasting is a starvation experiment and doesn't exactly signal abundance to your body
2. For most people too much lipolysis **is** one of their main problems, stimulating more of that might not be the best plan.
3. Fasting only seems to have short term benefits for a specific subset of people, mostly male. Long term it lowers your metabolic rate and increases stress.
Minnesota Starvation Experiment, Ray Peat's blog and Weston A. Price's book changed my mind on all this. Tried all sorts of fasting before, all worsened my state. Nothing helped me like slowly increasing my calorie intake, with good food.
