There is even a trickier part: they do actually have jurisdiction over the dollars you think you own, because the dollars are just debt that they can claim at any moment.
But Bitcoin is not debt, so they have zero right to claim it.
So detaining somebody that creates an open source wallet over a supposed crime of dollars is totally illegal, because no dollars are ever used ever on it, and they have zero jurisdiction over Bitcoin. It's not created by them, it's not debt, they can't claim it.

To disable runes and ordinals and RGB and other shitcoinery in your node please enable
datacarriersize=0
in your bitcoin.conf file. This has some implications like disabling paynim (Samourai nicknames) but not very important ones, you will still route payments and open LN channels.
Please share, this is a very important advise. If enough nodes filter this shit, we can send a message and force shitcoiners to find direct routes to miners, exposing the miners that reject this important job of spam filtering.

Man, you are obsessed. I'm a Bitcoin maxi but I'm vegan. I have several carnivore friends and some family. Some of them had cancer and heart problems, one of them died recently. All of them have bad look, baggy eyes, and they are certainly not stronger than me by any means, nor healthier.
The reason because I think you all carnivores got so obsesed about this is because a plant based diet with lot of cereals will make you certainly gain weight. The weight gain is certainly bad, but you must understand why: because it actually is a good food. You body tries to store fat from actual food, because that was historically an advantage for survival. If you don't get fat eating only meat it is because meat is not properly digested, and is not actually a very good food.
Just look at our most close species. They are all at least 99% vegan, and they are strong and healthy. Look at chimpance and gorillas and orangutans.
Just use logic. Don't attach to stupid ideologies. And that is bad also for the Bitcoin community, it is very bad to associate being a bitcoiner to being an obsessive compulsive diet moron.

That's not right, where I usually am, I don't pay any taxes, except VAT but that is unavoidable because stores are forced to collect them. It's the same every cicle, new clueless people come and think naively about banks, govs, and exchanges, until they learn the hard way, which is usually losing all their money or freedom.

You probably haven't used much Clojure, Scala or Haskell (and Lisp, but this is dynamic), they use pointers internally for everything, while you have the impression they don't. And they are very well optimized. So it is not massive copying, it's just a bit, combined with pointer magic.

Nice comparition, but I would rather compare C to a knife and Haskell to a full featured programmable electric saw. You can do the same with both, but with the knife you have to do it by hand, while with the electric saw you just have to introduce the parameters.
About Java, it's not the language itself the good part, but the JVM, or at least it was at my time, probably it is no longer the case.
Python is for doing 100 to 1000 lines scripts, I wouldn't make a full application on it.
And Go, I have no idea, I'm very old and I retired before it went mainstream.

I just posted an article about why I have closed my very old #lightning #bitcoin node.
Main reasons are:
- Too much work and time spent maintaining the node.
- Meager earnings.
- High technical knowledge requirements if you really want to have more than 5 or 10 channels and resolve technical issues that will undoubtedly arise in the years to come.
- Limited mobile options (forces you to set up a reverse proxy with a VPS in some datacenter if you want to use clearnet).
- Excessive risk, money is at stake and hardware can fail, or a bug in the software could arise.
- Limited automation options (the only one that works well is CLBOSS and it's only available for CLIGHTNING).
- Periodic headaches.
