CARTWHEEL and its cousins were decommissioned around 1990's. Many of the towers, mostly atop mountains in remote areas, were left to rot. CARTWHEEL and CORKSCREW (in central Maryland) have been repurposed for use by the FAA.
This was captured with the Rodenstock 23mm/5.6 Digaron lens and the Phase One IQ4-150 back. A polarizer was used to enhance sky contrast.
