I get part of it is current year identity politics and overreaction to the fact back in the day psychs thinking they could just zap people's problems away with electric shocks and lobotomies, but they're just making shit worse in different ways.
And obviously things aren't gonna end well if you're stuck between mental problems and the shrink making it worse.
