What you want, in this New Internet World, is a valuable service that is extremely cheap to run, so that you can get lots and lots of subscribers who pay very little (occasional zaps or cheap subscription to keep out spam) and 10% premium subscribers or donors, who regularly fork out significant amounts.
That's where the Break Even potential is, I think, but you then have to pull the costs forward, which is an expensive investment. You either need funders to hire people to do it, or you need to be those people and volunteer your time. The price point is actually the same, either way, it's just that the funders worked in the past, to cover the cost, whereas the volunteers are working in the present.
