Currently syncing my own Bitcoin node 🎉 Decided to, in addition to using Tor proxying, also isolate it in a container that cannot access the internet outside of a single port on the host — the aforementioned Tor proxy. Mostly for fun. It makes for an interesting setup, even though it doesn't actively increase my anonymity.
The host machine, of course, has full access to the container, especially the RPC port. This might be useful to configure Sparrow to connect to the node — though, of course, it doesn't show me much since the node is (for now) stuck somewhen around 2015.
Next step would be a lightning node and maybe Fulcrum so I can use more common wallet apps than Sparrow, e.g. Electrum on my phone. I also think that maybe getting a cold wallet would be nice. Perhaps a SeedSigner (npub17ty…3mgl)? 😝
