The issue here is reacting as if economists are or can be objective, which is a virtual impossibility. Almost everyone, and that includes economists, have a vested interest in perpetuating or promoting a particular political philosophy or ideology, and yet most present their opinions as if they are fact. Generally, economists less supportive of monetarism and capitalism are marginalised, while those in favour are amplified.
