Today, we spent 2 hours launching a new project with European Space Agency (npub1zgm…7euu) to combine satellite datasets of ice in the Polar regions, with regional climate model outputs to better understand uncertainties on ice sheet mass budget + sea level rise.
We don't plan to use any US datasets for this and this evening I learn it's just as well as NSIDC + NOAA are moving more datasets to "basic". But how heartbreaking
As Zack Labe (npub1ykx…lz93) says, we need people to make a fuss about these cuts or they'll become permanent.
And still the ice will melt and the climate will warm...
