Ni-Cads?!? Not NiMH? Yowsa. Ni-cads are the worst. Pitiful energy density and terrible "memory effect."
Pretty certain all roombas use NiMH batteries, which also don't have great energy density, but should have zero "memory effect" and are very tolerable to poor treatment, unlike Lithium batteries, which go into spicy pillow mode if you look at them wrong. Especially raw batteries without a charge controller.
