I think the journalist is writing for engagement. Devices that use radio frequency for direct communication are not phones in the conventional sense and cannot connect to the public telephone networks. Yet it could “look” like a phone but being a radio talkie talkie under the hood.

I don't like the commercial it's boring and not creative.
If you have 5 Bitcoin, which is currently worth about 500,000 USD , trading it for a house is probably the worst thing you can do. That 5 Bitcoin will be worth much more in the future.
So what do you do? I guess if you really want to buy a house you should take out a fiat mortgage and keep that 5 Bitcoin. Ya you will probably pay double the house price with interest over 30 years and a big chance that in 30 years, Bitcoin will be the dominant currency and real estate is most likely never to appreciate anymore so you're still on the hook for that money but since you still have that 5 Bitcoin you could easily pay it off.
You could also just rent but the problem is if you have a wife and kids renting a house is actually more expensive than having a mortgage over the long run but living in a apartment with wives and kids is not ideal and also you still need to work and can't move to the country and buy a cheap home.
So many problems whichever way you go but I'd say do everything possible to keep those 5 Bitcoin.
96 hours isn’t as bad as it sounds and I would definitely recommend it. Caffeine and nicotine help a lot, though.
Have you tried a splash of raw cream? It might help with the acidity. Or maybe a tall glass of warm-ish lemon water before the coffee

I hate how restaurants and pubs always dim the lights so you can barley see anything. What are they trying to accomplish. What are they trying to hide. Are trying to hide the uglies?

That’s a retarded justification to say “well it can identify illegal immigrants.”
Not only do I care less about that than a giant centralized surveillance apparatus, the way to fix illegal immigration is simply to STOP SUBSIDIZING THE EVER LOCING FUCK OUT OF IT. If we stop paying for their travel, housing, letting them game the welfare system, and make them work honestly, 98% of it will go away all by itself. Paying to flood immigrants into the country and THEN also paying for a giant, centralized, Ai powered surveillance monstrosity is about as peak retarded as it gets

No hype. No speculation. Just field-tested stories. From the trenches.
As am prepping my presentation, I want YOUR questions:

What do you want answered with real-world context, not theory?
If it’s relevant and I’ve lived it, I’ll include it.

It's a nice ad, but damn that's an expensive house. I hope it comes with 2.5 bitcoin buried in the backyard.
IMO, our POS systems need to make the merchant look absolutely awesome in front of their client. That is what drives adoption and usage in B2B systems.
I am not sure what you want. There won't be a way to be sure a code was vibe coded or not. We can only follow the development and trust people. It's fine. As long as we get some real competition for Amethyst.
Imo the Mac minis with 64gb shared ram are great for home. Yes shared ram is not 100% as fast as vram, but it perfectly does the job at home. Something around 2-2.5k.
Well the number of people is a key difference. Take your primal, for instance. It's nowhere near Twitter in UX. And they will probably never be. Even being the Nostr team with 10x the amount of money our second biggest project has. Even focusing all that money in the UX at the expense of everything else, like not integrating with virtually anything, relying on centralized caches and even KYC people to use their custodial wallet.
He's free to use Nostr. It's an open protocol.
No need to be sure. Just 90% sure is enough. AI leaks a lot of signs everywhere in the codebase.
Quite hard to provide a "comparable experience" against a 500 ppl engineering team operating on a limitless centralized server they fully control with just a few full timers and a bunch of part time folks while having to interoperate with 100 other pieces of software that were all written by different people.
You can just buy an on-prem server. With some dirty fiat.
Those are the hardest ones. No one leaves their comfortable home very easily.
What's an online friend? That is true for all apps. I tried onboarding a friend to the real Instagram just last week. That was the one and only time that person opened Instagram.
Many smaller ones work quite well. The issue happens when they try to make something bigger. The hope is that we don't need anything big in Nostr.
It's hard but I think the committee can have some say in a subjective way.
You will spend most of your time styling it to get it right.
The goal is to see if AI can break our monopoly on Android.
Great episode,Mel. I have been exploring this rabbit hole too. Would love to compare notes! Btw, my Podcast is called Once Bitten.

The state isn’t born from consent but conquest. Its monopoly on force relies on historical violence, not social contracts, entrenching power through exploitation.

Best vibe coded app by November wins.
Who could organize this, gather, source the funds and assemble the evaluation comitee?
Rules:
- It must be fully vibe coded. No look at the code.
- It must be a native and real app that people can download and install.
- It must use Amber to login
- It must use Pokey for notifications
- it must offer zaps via Nostr Wallet Connect.

This is bullshit. #Nostr is lost, I’m leaving
Hmm. It's kind of a shitty database though.
A simulation simply exists within a larger system, with forces beyond what those in the simulation are aware of influencing it. In the sense that humanity exists within a larger universe with spiritual forces influencing us, cooperating with us, fighting against us, then describing our existence as a simulation makes some degree of sense. The difference is we have free will and agency to choose. The more we are aware of and in tune with the Divine, the more we are able to “escape the simulation” so to speak.
Well tell them it doesn't make sense since Bitcoin uses TCP/IP.
I went to the angry bad place yesterday to see this for myself and I saw him defending himself all day long. Big yikes Peter.
I kinda see them as the same thing really. It’s that valuing comfort above all and desiring to not have responsibility of their own lives, IS a form of seeking slavery. To seek freedom is the explicit decision to take responsibility for your own life.
Most have simply equated freedom, because they see it as a desirable thing, with comfort and *lack* of responsibility, because that’s what they *really* want. They actually don’t want freedom at all, they are running from it to avoid taking responsibility for their actions and situation.
But arguably, either framing can be considered accurate, imo. Because freedom and responsibility are two sides of the same coin, and most people find comfort in avoiding the weight of responsibility.
I’ve seen this suggestion many times (and you may not even mean this literally) but “most capable builder ≠ smartest.”
Again, your post might even be sarcastic, but I just find the conflation between “compute” power, intuitive intelligence, and the capacity to build and get things done, just kind of frustrating.
Most people just conflate these as “smart,” so if someone have an IQ of “whatever they think is high” then the fact that they might have zero intuition for the truth and might be a total pessimist and mentally incapacitated because of their view on the world, they (and others) think they inherently have the right answer despite being the most likely to convince themselves of the *wrong* answer.
Similarly Elon is certainly smart, but his power is his confidence and incredible capability to just “do things.” He simply has a mental frame that says “yeah that’s possible, why wouldn’t it be,” and honestly even with mediocre “compute” intelligence, that’s a fucking super power. But if you have higher than average compute intelligence and intuition together with the capacity, focus, and confidence to just “do stuff,” you’re damn near guaranteed to succeed at whatever you do.
This was an entirely unnecessary and lengthy caveat to your very simple and unassuming post… but I typed it anyway so here you have to read it now 😂

Just when you think an issue is done, the flames re-ignite and we're back to the same arguments again.
Big day today! 🥳 🎉
Today marks 2 years since I discovered #nostr and decided to jump into the rabbit hole, and honestly, I’m still falling.
At first it blew my mind that Zaps are a thing here, and it actually works!
It still blows my mind how much is being built on this protocol, and there’s so much more to come!
I've learned more in these two years than I ever expected. The importance of decentralization, privacy, open-source…
Big shoutout to all the devs building like maniacs, and to the plebs for keeping it weird, wonderful, and wildly unhinged.
Can’t wait to see what the next year of chaos and creativity brings. 🚀
Cheers to each and every one of you!

💯 The idea is right. The execution is wrong, and without using and experiencing nostr and bitcoin I probably wouldn’t see that. Integrating your socials, content, and money online makes things very streamlined and convenient. But millions of people doing that on a centralized platform that controls all of them is a disaster waiting to happen. Nostr and Bitcoin achieve that integration while remaining open and preserving user choice and freedom.

the elites on the left are incompetent and complicit
Fat is very unidimensional. I can eat that but it would be only once. Fat is boring.
My 17 month old son looked me straight in the eyes today and said “dad, why do you pay taxes if the government just prints money out of thin air, never balances a budget, and yet uses your tax dollars to fund war/genocide you never voted for?”
What should I tell him?
But it is. Another is rice. Rice doesnt need any butter. But if you don't know how to cook it, throw a stick of butter in it and boom it's delicious. It doesn't taste like rice, but most people don't care. All they want is the unidimensional taste of fat. They wouldn't know how to recognize anything else.
Broccoli alone can taste really good. Or you can cook it incorrectly and fix it with butter. Besides making everything taste like butter, the use of fat tells me that the cook knows nothing about food.

I thought they didn't like food...
Yeah, pretty unidimensional.
Nah.. fat gets boring fast.
Anything tastes good if you add tons of fat. You don't even need to know how to cook. Same for drinks and sugar. You can get the worst food imaginable. Add fat or sugar and everybody will love it (and die 5 years earlier).
It's good, but not my preferred. I eat steak for the beefy flavor, not for the fat.
wow, how many birds do you have
The secret to most recipes is a lot more salt and a lot more butter than you think you need 🤣
I hate when chefs cheat on recipes. Everything going well and then.. boom... 2 sticks of butter... or a full cup of cream... for 2 portions? Wtf.
If you need lots of fat to make your food taste good, you failed. Sorry.

I don't really believe in miracles because we haven't seen anything of that sort ever happen. It'd be easy to fool the masses into believing Jesus was resurrected and many other things especially back then.
I'm skeptical and suspect the whole bible was not even a word or god. It's seems like it was a man made tool in order to contol the masses.
I don't think the creator would send his son and the whole 2nd half of the bible is extremely fear driven and that we must fear god.
There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat;
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.

Picking up on @nprofile…23nj ‘s sharp take on BitBonds. They aren’t just the new junk bonds. They’re a confession of where fiat is headed.
The state needs convexity. Bitcoin provides it. BitBonds are the vehicle.
What starts as a workaround becomes a benchmark. Junk bonds did it. Mortgage-backed debt did it. BitBonds will too. if Bitcoin survives the volatility.
But this isn’t just about finance. It’s about nation states survival imo,
The fiat system is drowning in its own promises. Yields are rising. Buyers are disappearing. And BitBonds is a hybrid bond wrapped around Bitcoin. A last-ditch play to roll sovereign debt with digital collateral.
Here’s how it works: governments issue bonds with ultra-low coupons. 90% of the proceeds go to state spending. 10% buys Bitcoin. Investors get fixed income plus a piece of BTC upside. If Bitcoin rallies, it’s a convex windfall. If it collapses, governments still win: borrowing at a discount compared to traditional rates.
The pitch is seductive: “safe” Bitcoin exposure, no custody headaches, all within a regulated wrapper. Ideal for pension funds, family offices, and bureaucrats pretending they understand innovation.
But every financial product with asymmetric payoff begins the same way: hype, leverage, and someone eventually left holding the bag.
We’ve seen this movie: junk bonds in the ’80s, mortgage-backed securities in the 2000s, ESG debt in the 2010s. Each began as a workaround, not a solution. Each ended with a “correction” and survivors who shaped the next cycle.
If pilot programs succeed, BitBonds could hit $2T by 2030. They’ll reshape how governments borrow, how allocators think about #Bitcoin, and how systemic risk hides in plain sight.
#BitBonds are not a financial innovation. They’re a monetary confession. The dollar needs Bitcoin more than Bitcoin needs the dollar.
Watch what they do, not what they say.

Big day tomorrow 🥳
« I can't buy coffee with Bitcoin »
Maybe... But look at it follow the script:
Bitcoin isn't failing as money.
It isn’t trying to (and can't) “replace the dollar overnight.”
It’s going through the same monetization path that gold, silver and other non-fiat monies went through.
🔸 First: it’s a collectible. A curiosity. Held by cypherpunks and early tech circles.
🔸 Then: it becomes a store of value.
A hedge against broken currencies.
A savings tool in fragile economies.
A way to exit the noise and hold something finite.
🔸 With time and liquidity: it matures into a medium of exchange.
We're already seeing this with Lightning adoption across Africa and #LATAM.
Remittances.
Merchant use.
Micro-payments.
🔸Eventually: it can serve as a unit of account.
That’s the last mile. And the hardest.
It means people think in sats, not dollars.
Meaning a coffee would, in your mind, cost 1500 Sats, not $6.
This doesn’t happen through press releases or politics.
It happens organically, driven by utility and necessity.
Trying to rush #Bitcoin into the final phase before it completes the first ones is a big mistake and irrational expectation.
Most people get frustrated that it’s “not money yet.”
That’s like judging a teenager for not being a CEO.
Let it grow.
We’re watching a monetary revolution unfold in real time and we’re somewhere between Stage 2 and 3.
(Depending on where you are in the world)
In the #MiddleEast and #Africa?
That curve is bending faster than most realize.
P.S: What stage do you think we're in, globally or locally?
Curious to hear where your region sits on this curve #nostr!

Parker Lewis: Gamestop bought 4,710 Bitcoin (or 471 billion bitcoins) and the CEO says things like "if the thesis is correct." That is a scary place to be, relying on some thesis. "But, we'll see what happens."
Zero vision, great. This pretty much sums up the Bitcoin conference from last week: a repetitive parroting of Bitcoin fundamentals with zero substance beyond “buy Bitcoin, it’s the future.”
Most of the time these people will do the following thing. Sell low after buying high. Anyway, Gamestop is up 4.20% in pre-market after announcing a purchase of 4,710 Bitcoin. They're now the 13th largest public company holder of BTC in the world.

➡️ IMF raises concern over Pakistan‘s Bitcoin mining power plans. They want everyone under their control. They can't do it with Bitcoin. They might be losing another 'customer'. The IMF sees all the debt slaves becoming financially sovereign and independent by embracing Bitcoin.
https://i.ibb.co/BV0V1c6S/Gs-Sj-NP5-WIAAZv-Fo.jpg
I have rewritten Daniel Batten's quote/post on this matter:
**
'Why Pakistan’s Bitcoin Plans May Not Survive the IMF"
**
While I’m an optimist by nature—and I truly hope I’m wrong—I believe Pakistan will struggle to follow through on its Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining ambitions.
Short Answer: The IMF
Mid-Length Explanation:
Bitcoin poses a significant threat to the IMF’s influence—on at least five fronts.
Pakistan is heavily indebted to the IMF, and history shows a clear pattern: the IMF has already derailed or scaled back Bitcoin initiatives in all of the three countries that attempted adoption—El Salvador, Argentina, and the Central African Republic.
Pakistan will likely face similar pushback.
And given Pakistan’s economic vulnerabilities, it’s equally likely that the IMF will succeed.
What the IMF’s Next Steps Might Look Like
Manufacturing Doubt and Delay The IMF will likely begin by generating fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) around the viability of Pakistan’s Bitcoin program. Expect references to:
“Energy shortages”
“High electricity costs”
“Unclear regulatory frameworks”
“Anti-money laundering (AML) concerns”
These will be framed as responsible concerns by a seasoned financial guardian. The IMF may also imply that Pakistan acted prematurely, noting the country did not consult the IMF before announcing its Bitcoin initiative—suggesting a lack of due diligence. However, these objections are highly debatable. Multiple peer-reviewed studies show that Bitcoin mining can improve grid stability and lower electricity costs. Moreover, examples like Bhutan and El Salvador demonstrate how Bitcoin can enhance economic sovereignty. But that’s precisely the issue: economic sovereignty reduces the IMF’s lending relevance, and that’s not in the IMF’s institutional interest.
Weaponizing Debt and Conditionality
Under its $7 billion Extended Fund Facility program, the IMF is likely to:
Demand FATF-compliant crypto regulation
Prohibit state-level Bitcoin accumulation
Tie loan disbursements to rollbacks on Bitcoin and mining-related policies
This approach exploits Pakistan’s financial dependence on IMF loans to meet external debt obligations and maintain its foreign exchange reserves.
Enforcing Compliance Through Vulnerability
Pakistan’s financial position leaves little room for defiance:
It faces $12.7 billion in debt repayments in FY 2025.
Without IMF support, reserves could fall below $4 billion, covering less than one month of imports—far below the threshold needed for macroeconomic stability.
A repeat of early 2023, when reserves fell to $2.92 billion, would likely trigger another balance-of-payments crisis.
This would pressure the Pakistani rupee, already having depreciated from PKR 100 to over 330 per USD since 2017, and could push the country closer to default. Given its past FATF grey-listing, Pakistan cannot afford another multilateral funding freeze.
So What Does This All Mean?
It means the gloves are off.
The IMF is no longer merely advising—it’s actively resisting. Bitcoin threatens its long-standing monopoly over financially vulnerable nations, and Pakistan is shaping up to be the fourth test case of this resistance. If the IMF pressures Pakistan into reversing course, it will mark a 4-for-4 track record in blocking Bitcoin adoption efforts by countries under its financial umbrella.
The Bigger Picture
This is how entrenched institutions behave when facing disruption. They won’t stand aside—they’ll use every tool available to defend the system they control.
If a nation wants to adopt Bitcoin, it must either:
Be financially independent, like Bhutan or even the United States, or
Secure alternative funding, so IMF leverage becomes ineffective.
Bitcoin isn’t just a financial network. It’s a threat to the debt-based global order—and that means those invested in the status quo will fight back.'
➡️'Recent analysis by market research firm Alphractal suggests that, based on its current Sharpe Ratio, a key measure of risk-adjusted returns, Bitcoin still has room to run. The metric, which compares excess returns to volatility, is trending upward but remains well below the historical levels that have marked past market tops in 2013, 2017, and 2021.' - Bitcoin News

🎁If you have made it this far, I would like to give you a little gift:
Lysander: "Lyn Alden gave one of the clearest breakdowns of why the U.S. is on an unstoppable fiscal path—and why Bitcoin matters more than ever because of it.
Lyn Alden walks through the numbers behind the federal deficit, interest expenses, Social Security, and the structural changes that happened post-2008. The short version? We’re in a new era. One where the government can’t slow down even if it wants to.
The debt is compounding. The interest expense is rising. The trust funds are running dry. And the political will to do anything about it doesn’t exist.
Her phrase: “Nothing stops this train.” Not because of ideology, but because of math—and human nature.
This isn’t hyperinflation doom-talk. It’s a sober look at what happens when a system built on ever-growing debt reaches its limits—and why Bitcoin, with its fixed supply and transparent rules, is the opposite of that system.
Highly recommend watching this one all the way through."

Well the Jews rejected him because they saw him as an ordinary man with no divine powers or connection to God. It seems to me like a legit reason and I'm not even a Jew.
Why did Christians during that time think Jesus had divine powers? Even today, people claim to witness miracles, it's easy to fool people. Even today billions of Christians have been fooled. I think it seems plausible that Jesus was a psyop.

sorry for the lack of episodes. I’ve been in the car 3+ hours every day for the past five. Overseeing last of the bathroom remodel. Packing and unpacking and packing again. Hi agent. Can you add all the main genders to profiles.
but if Jesus was not sent by God but instead Jesus was artificially created by the Christian leaders during that time to get Christianity to be more popular. Then Jesus has no real connection to God and was never sent by God. He was just an everyday person like me and you.
Judism says the whole 2nd testament is not real because Jesus was not sent by God.
Yes. We are all sons of the creator since he created us but I don't see any evidence that Jesus was sent by our creator. The whole Jesus seems like a man made story.
recordings and future videos will be done.

An American politician hosts a Russian politician at his very nice, upscale riverfront home. The Russian is impressed and asks him how he affords this on a legislator's salary.
The American points and says "See that $50 million bridge?"
The Russian nods.
"I got $55 million allocated to it, and through various means, I funneled $5 million of that to my own pocket in the process."
The Russian looked very impressed.
Later, the American visits the Russian, and was amazed when he saw that the Russian had an entire mansion. He asks him how he afforded it. The Russian points and says, "See that $50 million bridge?"
"No," says the American.
"Exactly," says the Russian.
