"A clever graduate has used 80 discarded vape batteries to power his e-scooter—and to make a point about waste.
The 23-year-old Brit says disposable vape devices are marketed as expendable, but still have plenty of power—and people need to know that.
It didn’t cost any money to pick up 80 discarded vape batteries and he wired the lithium-ion batteries to a scooter purchased on eBay for $37 (£30).
Tobiasz Stanford from Wiltshire now uses the e-scooter everyday and calls it “very reliable”.

Book 5 for August 2023
Moominvalley in November by Tove Jansson
This is the second Moomin book that I have read. It is interesting that it is a Moomin book but none of the Moomin's are in it. It details a number of the other characters and what they do as they congregate at the Moomin's place while they are asleep for the winter.
It is a fun read though a bit odd in places.

"The curious British fashion for paving over front gardens got us thinking: surely there are people out there putting the trend in reverse?
So, we put a call out to the Positive News community to see if anyone had liberated a lawn or banished some block paving. Sure enough, plenty of you had – with the before and after shots to prove it (below).
It’s all heartening stuff given the statistics. According to the Royal Horticultural Society, three times as many front gardens are paved over now compared to a decade ago. It’s a disaster for biodiversity, of course, but it also increases the risk of flooding, and because tarmac absorbs heat, it makes neighbourhoods hotter. It’s also, frankly, rather ugly.
So, kudos to the good folk who’ve reclaimed their gardens from the tyranny of tarmac. Below are some of the best examples we were sent, with a few lines from respondents. Sorry we couldn’t publish them all."

1 ) your default color scheme is hostile to my eyes. It is great that you have the option to change to black and white but then if one clicks on any new page it returns to the default neon green on black
2 ) in the misfits and outcast section you speak of issues with aggressive people but I cannot find (you may address this but I just did not see it), I grew up within a very tight conservative community I was an outcast not because of my own aggression but because they could not accept the existence of LGBTQ+ people. From my experience some people are not safe in most places through no fault of our own.

We should ban life jackets & other flotation devices
They only encourage risky behavior. The only 100% effective way to prevent drowning is total abstinence from going in the water.
and if you do, by chance, find yourself struggling with drowning then no life-saving or otherwise procedure or act should be allowed to be administered. You got yourself into this mess, you have to live with the consequences.
You should see drowning as a gift.
Also, if you were forcibly pushed into the water, don’t worry. If it was a legitimate pushing, your body will find a way to shut out all the water and survive the drowning.

Holocaust - Toxic audacity of Hitler and his soldiers. When you categorise humans to "humans” and "non humans’ - it's dangerous and toxic trade made by narcissist and psychopaths lacking of empathy.
EMPATHY
Dividing people to "humans” and "non humans" like Jewish people at the Holocaust. Höss and Eichmann had empathy, but not for the victims. Gas chambers were created so the soldiers so would not be traumatised. Shooting people, especially women and children, was too traumatic happening for the soldiers.
Do you understand why it's important that all humans are humans with human rights? Also the bad people like narcissist and psychopaths. Be aware of them."
