They work whilst the smart arse is around who comprehends them but anyone else who has to work on them or worse, who inherits them will find it much harder to make changes or fix things.

It’s a messed up industry though with its obsession with youth and novelty, seldom learning from mistakes and often reinventing the wheel. 30 years for me next year. Sigh.
