Okay, I finally did it - got new #goalie pads. My old ones are at least 10 years old, probably more, and are falling apart. Hope my wife believes me because despite the 50% off, it was still over US$800. Of course, $120 of that was for the knee pads I had to buu because new pads don't come with thigh guards. These are Vaughn SLR3 Pro pads. I'll have to get to the rink 30 minutes early to have time to figure out how to put them on!

oh, it's great. It won Best Picture in 2022 and I still love it. And I promise it's not just because it is set and filmy here in Massachusetts (her deaf father owns a fishing boat in Gloucester) 😺

it's about a Child Of Deaf Adults trying to manage her last year in high school. Not usually a "coming of age" movie person, but this movie killed me. So wonderfully done and acted. The amazing Marlee Matlin is one of the stars. One of my favorite movies from the last few years.

It's move in weekend for theany college students here in the #Boston / #cambridgema area, which means a neverending stream of moving trucks hitting low overpasses, which are all too common around here. So, to recap - A was supposed to go to #London for the week, mostly to see #TaylorSwift Tuesday night. Hours before takeoff, her friend saw her passport had expired a few months ago. Trip off. But she called this morning and was actually able to get a new passport. Or at least is supposed to get it at 3:30pm. They now have an 8pm flight, which means a long day tomorrow, something only these 20-somethings could do. But they should have a blast! Thanks Mastodonians for all your help.

So @npub1m69…jwz3 and I watched Mad Max, the first in the series. I've watched it a few times, including in the theater when it came out (yes, I'm that old). She has never seen a Mad Max movie. I'm a little more critical than I was when I was a teenager, so the pacing felt off. There were some great road scenes, of course. A enjoyed it. Yes, the dog does die 💔 😿
We'll watch The Road Warrior next - a much better movie. I want to finish the 4 #movies before we go see Furiosa in IMAX.
