So a few blocks from my house there is this house owned by Nazis. This is not a joke they spray painted swastikas on their fence, house and trash cans and had various alt-right bumper stickers on one of their cars. I took some pictures of these.
Apparently the neighbors were able to force them to remove the swastikas despite first amendment arguments about this.
Because I took pictures, one of the Nazis knows who I am.
I drove by there yesterday and he saw me and he was afraid.
That's interesting.

I would not really call my class presentations "academic publications" that's one reason I don't just jet them loose. I teach undergrads from various majors including non-STEM students so everything is simple and simplified.
I'm actively thinking about what to do next and one idea is to move the technical bar up and make it a more rigorous academic course for CS majors.
I might also go the other way and focus on high school students.
Either way, I can't do anything until I'm no longer employed by the university which will be in January unless something changes.

not currently but I may do that in the future. This is a class at UC Santa Cruz and I have not put in any of the materials online outside the internal UCSC Canvas system.
However as the grant funding for my class is apparently over after this year I am looking at various alternatives for 2025. One of those is to turn this into an online offering which i would offer directly myself.
I'm not sure if I will do that, but if I do you can be sure I will talk about it here.

Trump is going to regret setting up even one debate.
He can barely form a coherent thought. When he tries to explain a complex idea he fails and gets the details wrong. Instead of learning from his mistakes he just insists they weren't mistakes and he learns nothing.
The first debate is going to be super embarrassing for him so we can expect a truly insane reaction afterwards.

My Trump supporting neighbors met a friend's trans friend at my house and told me they thought they were nice and interesting.
Note this person is an economic conservative, libertarian and actually voted for Trump.
But the veil was pierced. They weren't rude and didn't leave. They liked talking to her.

if you think Biden won and delivered a knockout to Trump you could link to a video of the moment when it happened. A "moderate showing" is not good enough you have to win.
Unfortunately Biden failed to deliver it.
Sure the press is focused on all the wrong things but this was known in advance. If you play the game you should know the rules. The people prepping Biden know the history (e.g. the Nixon Kennedy debate) and know the press is focused on the wrong things.
But Biden didn't deliver the win. If he had, we would not be having this conversation.
Now there's going to be chaos and a lot of uncertainty heading into November. This was 100% avoidable in my view.

how do you decide who "won"?
The problem is that Biden didn't deliver a knockout. Yes Trump persistently lied. But Biden didn't address many of the lies at all. It wasn't just his voice, he obviously forgot what he was talking about right at the beginning of the debate. Biden should have and could have crushed Trump but that isn't what happened.
