If you are on mobian bookworm and you have not undated for quite some time, you might get some 'sigkey expired' message when apt upgrading.
Our mobian signature key expired indeed, but an updated version will be pulled in through debian's repository (mobian-archive-keyring).
So just apt upgrade away and the next apt update should be fine.

Notes on the quest to get the alarm clock to wake up the phone from suspend: this executed as user mobian actually resumed a L5:
systemd-run --collect --user --unit=alarm-clock --on-active="1m" --timer-property=WakeSystem=true gnome-clocks
Resuming without root permissions seems to work now (progress)!
There are still bugs, also saw https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/29245
Now, gnome-clocks "just" needs to call the required systemd timers to make the phone wake up on time...

@npub1ug4…d762 is back in business! Now with a new hoster and server, blog, repository, and image downloads should be back up again.
There might be a few old DNS cache leftovers which should resolve themselves soon.
Yay for good backups and sorry for the downtime!

Just a reminder that the @npub1ug4…d762 repo, image downloads and website are still down due to a hardware issue. There are backups of everything but the bring up is taking longer than expected.
Had we known it takes this long, we would have provided a temporary solution. Sorry, but we'll be back! 💪

We don't have an ETA for when it will be back up, but we are trying to do it ASAP.

Debian Trixi currently undergoes a big transition with most packages being rebuilt. Right now is not a good time to 'apt dist-upgrade'. Some package upgrades will be held back. Right now dist-upgrade wants to remove phosh-phone, librem5-support and libglib2.0-bin, which seems like a bad idea...

If you are not happy with your on-screen-keyboard (#squeekboard) on Mobian, you might want to try out #phosh-osk-stub which is @npub1mwd…3q3p's toy keyboard. I like the layout a lot, apparently it even features local text prediction (have not tried that yet).
Remember, it is a toy, so hold back on your support requests.
Installation TL;DR: apt install phosh-osk-stub && update-alternatives --config Phosh-OSK
P.S. The screenshot is using PureOS rather than Mobian, but it is available there just as well

Mobian started as a hobby project, triggered by the excitement of finally being able to hack one’s mobile phone at will. It is fair to say that the device that made it possible back then was the original PinePhone. However, after running once again into the same difficulties we experienced over and over, we’re wondering whether maintaining support for this device is still worth the effort…

If you are on Trixie, phoc updated to 0.30 but phosh 0.30 has not landed in trixie yet. Please wait to update phoc until phosh 0.30 lands in trixie (or install it from unstable!)

Please do not use the post-bookworm release installer images for SD -> SD installs for the moment. Due to a bug you could accidentally delete your /boot partition.
A fix is coming, but we won't be replacing the weekly installer build.

In preparation of the @npub1v4y…j7w0 #Bookworm release we have put out RC2 release candidates. We still have a few changes in the pipeline which will make it into a RC3.
If things go according to plan, RC3 might become our final release image.

For those with a #librem5 , we just added gnss-share and the ability to create encrypted Mobian images for the Librem 5!
I tested gnss-share with #puremaps , and it works great with car/bike/walking navigation.
Please note that by default, we will not provide images for encrypted images by default, we will only provide an image to make encrypted filesystems with the installer. We do this to prevent everyone having the same encryption key for their image.
