[It is a positive that she looked it up BTW!]
I taught physical diagnosis for twenty years at a major university in the US. We older doctors often lamented that good old history and physical exam skills were being lost to the next generation.
Your history was "not normal" for a eustachian tube problem. "...over about a minute, the hearing on my right side faded until I couldn't hear anything at all." A *Red Flag* we would say. Sudden loss of any neurological function is an emergency.
There are easy bedside tests that could have been done to confirm this (see graphic). Did the young docs know them/perform them?! A good review...

These are two different renderings of the same footage. I was following the Pueblo Alto Trail through a huge crack in the cliff face. It was very windy down in the slot! At the end you can see the Kin Kletso Ruins in the near distance.

"Gish Gallop" caught my eye so I looked it up in wikipedia…
"During a Gish gallop, a debater confronts an opponent with a rapid series of many specious arguments, half-truths, misrepresentations, and outright lies in a short space of time, which makes it impossible for the opponent to refute all of them within the format of a formal debate. Each point raised by the Gish galloper takes considerably more time to refute or fact-check than it did to state in the first place, which is known online as Brandolini's law. The technique wastes an opponent's time and may cast doubt on the opponent's debating ability for an audience unfamiliar with the technique, especially if no independent fact-checking is involved or if the audience has limited knowledge of the topics."

The #insurance thing is a buried lead. Turns out #Florida insurance companies are close to be written off by most #reinsurance providers. And when that happens the house of cards will actually fall apart. Big risk for Florida #taxpayers also!! 😨

Red Eft (Spotted Orange Newt) in upstate #NewYork
Starts out with gills living in the water. Then metamorphoses into these cute little guys who run around in the leaf litter eating slugs and insects. Then after several years and possibly miles away from their natal pond, they morph again into adults who may never leave the water again!
