Riding from station to hotel I was still getting rubbing of the front disk rotor. No squeak, but still rubbing.
Fortunately a useful benefit from having built this bike from the frame up. I know how it all goes together and how it all works.
Loosened the bolts holding the front caliper. Wiggled it a bit. Tighten bolts. Rubbing gone. Success.

From the no shit sherlock school of research. Being poor is exhausting and debilitating. It's amazing the difference even small amounts of money can have on someone's mental health.
So of course, having enough money to be able to put a small amount of it aside is going to make you feel a lot better than being worried that you might not be able to afford food this week.
Poverty costs the UK £78Bn a year. Maybe we should use some of that to lift people out of poverty

"Technology won't save us" is the usual refrain when someone mentions Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). CCS is often touted by the fossil fuel industry as a way of us being able to keep burning dinosaurs. Continue our lives unchanged...

@npub1g0t…tvm4 Maybe it wouldn't feel so crowded if fewer people weren't hogging all the housing stock by having second homes. Many places like Aldeborough on the Suffolk cost are basically just second homes. With those who actually work there unable to afford to live there.
There's space enough for everyone, it's just not fairly distributed.

It's why I bought your book on git. As it doesn't.

I want who ever decided to install this style of bench here, to sit on it for 1 whole hour in February. Then see if they still agree with it being a good choice. Other benches on the platform are wood, and thus not too bad in the cold. But this. It's a galvanised steel instrument of torture.

@npub1ne0…p3ud while I like the sentiment. I find it really hard, as I cycle past Ijmuiden steel works, and get cut off by someone in a 2 ton SUV. I think the time for small changes by individuals is over. We need big change at societal and industrial levels.
