@nprofile…mtwn I just don't think it's good game design. The '14 era Inspiration didn't have that. The '24 era does. I don't need to do probability math to tell you that a player having rolled too low on a d20, given the choice of '14 Inspiration or '24 Inspiration, will always choose the '14 rules. Their final result can't decrease under '14 rules, but it can under '24 rules. I see that as a worsening of the utility of the mechanic and I don't understand why they'd make it less helpful in that way.

So if a player rolls a 15, but they're pretty sure it's not enough, they use Inspiration, they roll 10, which they must use... so now they have a 10 instead. Their situation has gotten worse not better.
Whereas in 5e '14 rev., it grants advantage. So the same player would end up with the 15 they started with instead since the new roll wasn't an improvement.

In #dnd #5e '14 rev. Inspiration meant getting advantage. In the '24 rev. it means you can roll the die again— but you must use the new roll. i.e. even if it's lower. How is that a fix-bad-rolls luck mechanic anymore. :blobcatthonking:

On this data analysis cert program I'm in the section on Data Cleaning & they are SUPER breezing through it and this time instead of accepting poor education I'm doing something about it.
I turned up an 89 page primer ebook specifically on Data Cleaning, grabbed it, and I'm going to convert it to flashcards & insert them here as a supplement.
It's worth the extra grind. I want to get this right, Data Cleaning is really a "skip a step today, waste 10 hours next week" kind of process

It's always odd to hear people talk about sexual attraction bc as an ace person I don't experience it
Back when I was still a guy I even tried to teach myself to ogle women bc I thought I was supposed to. (This was also an autist-trying-to-emulate-NT-behavior thing.)
