@npub1w88…zdnx I work with a local homeless charity and take in donations on their behalf, and the neighboring district council also collect laptops for them and bring them direct to me first- they get all of the random ones that get left with me.
An other charity I work with in the city take in mostly ex-business units from companies when they're refreshing their kit and bring them to me in batches of 10 to sort out, they're usually the ones with this problem, and they never have the passwords, sighh

If you're a business IT person donating old hardware, pretty please with a cherry on top remove the BIOS passwords first xxx

Been thinking recently there should be a soap opera that subtly demonstrates pathways towards community action, resolving/exploring social justice issues etc, and the drama comes in showing the pitfalls and challenges that can arise within those contexts, interpersonal conflicts within movements etc.
