Star9 OS already runs fine on Raspberry PI 4 with 8 GB, but a Raspberry 5 with 16 GB will make it an excellent option to add more than a Bitcoin Node but plenty more running smooth, can't wait!

Why do you think that besides #Bitcoin, some cryptocurrencies have been there for over 10 years and despite their poor performce against #BTC they continue to exist and thrive?
My take:
Initially I thought, all of them but a handful will fade away and never be heard of again, but for my surprise, many are still trading after many years, Why?
The more I analyze the available data the more I conclude it is not about performance or profit, and I got to the Apple iPhone phenomenon...
When the iPhone was launched I was shocked on how many technically savvy friends, colleagues and acquaintances were buying it. I study the mobile and concluded it was an overpriced device with many deficiencies for me to even consider it an option, in short SUCKS, the worst one at that time, it had one radio instead of two, you could not do data and talk at the same time and almost no customization. It simply sucks. Yet an incredible success, Why? The Apple fan base, or should I say, the cult? Tesla now?
Extrapolating to Crypto currencies I believe is the same principle, some of them keep being strong over time because of the fan base, toxic maxis that become youtubers, tiktokers, influencers, developers, periodic conferences, PR campaigns, etc, same as with Bitcoin
Bitcoin is not much different on that arena, but it has the huge advantage of being the first to market and the fact that walked the path of the HERO (fought three big battles; 1. blocks, 2. miners bans, 3. ETFs approval; and won raising victorious)
Lot's of people hate Bitcoin maxis, believe they are part of the problem as of why there is not more adoption, maybe that is true, but I believe they are the cult base, without them, their strong believe in the ecosystem and its ethos, Bitcoin would not be the undisputed alpha dog
What are your thoughts?

Is very good , the backup and recovery needs work, lots have been done so far, more needs to be done.
There should be an export file to recover funds while moving to another mobile or simply recovering from a major issue. At the moment is a text copied to the clipboard, you need to paste it on a text file. After that, how to recover it is a mystery to me, I am assuming by redeeming but have not tried yet.
The perfect solution would be auto backup to a file daily and manually we can take care of the cloud sync

Check on different clients for the check mark, in #Amethyst ( @nprofile…s8dt ) your NIP05 shows error, so does mine but that is not accurate, on other clients shows fine, so does yours.

Few months ago was helping a friend setup an account, impossible without mobile or email verification. I reach out to Proton and they stated it was for security to avoid spam and that they did not keep that information... sure... tried tuta, the same... so had to use a disposable email to continue

That is cool, for some reason when creating the eCash token the QR code would not show, it will give an error stating the string was too long, pity didnt took a snap shot
For some reason I can't comprehended, without restarting the app, without stopping and cleaning the cache, the eCash token QR code now shows perfectly, every time 🤔... Have been coding for ages and every time something similar to this happens in my apps is so disconcerting,
BTE, We need a way to backup the tokens to an encrypted file...

Just bear in mind that the sats are lost if your mobile is lost, you may recover your LN Address which is cool using your 12 backed up words, but the sats are not so straight forward yet.
Always run recovery drills with any new wallet you test, I have done extensive test with Minibits, they keep working on it, last update broke the QR codes BTW... @nprofile…l3vp

Yes, the app is FLOSS yet, despite the extensive scrutiny done by coders there are many that feel they many be a honey pot as you do. SimpleX Chat fixes that, problem is, most people uses messengers openly known as government tools as WhatsApp Viber, Meta Messenger ,etc...

You will have a readable "npub" address verifying you ( kind of, better than nothing ) as a human ,but the real importance is that any person can fake your profile picture and page, but they will not be able to fake your pub... Being so long ,no one will go check, but with the nip05 you got an easy unique identifier like diyana@nostrid.com for example... Adding that to the search box will find you in Nostr...
Regarding amber, in settings, add your NSEC (private key, the one you don't share with no one), add a name to the profile and when a site or app ask you to sign, if they have amber you click on it and the app will open prompting you to approve (sign) the action with your private key

If you have already study a bit and you are familiar with NWC, eCash, Mints, LN channels, you run your own BTC node... GetAlby is a decent choice, for zaps only you could consider Coinos or Minibits

Yes, a private DNS is useful in some circumstances, but bear in mind, it is another vector of data sharing, you need to trust that DNS service, they have your IP (one more party) and the log of the sites you are visiting, after all, that is their function, to resolve the sites addresses. Proton VPN, Mullvad and IVPN all have their own secure DNS which filters ads and malware, by using those VPNs with their default DNS setting you have more cyber sec, removing one vector of data sharing

Although, history repeats and rhymes... and apparently does it often... therefore...
Bitcoin is becoming a good example, most development around bitcoin is about monetization, utility, but not security, nor making it censorship resistance.
Being in the know since 2010, not using it to transact since it is not built with sufficient privacy by default to achieve that, devs around fighting each other and not inspiring trust doesn't help neither.
Sometimes I wonder WTF Satoshi was thinking making such a wonderful mathematical marvel with no privacy to transact ...
As a store of value is the kind of the land, unbeaten, as a currency to transact, to pay for good and services, nah, pass, much better privacy options out there.

The lies and deception the governments of USA and EU constantly push to their citizens at all levels is at all time high.
The effect over people that we believe are intelligent and intellectuals is quite notable.
Hearing podcasts of these people calling out other countries governments as authoritarian or dictatorships when I guarantee that they never have been in those countries, they are just repeating the lies and deceptions their government keep pushing to them. The irony, they live in a country where tyrants are in power and every day their freedoms are cut, like the frog in boiling water they compensate and believe all is fine, theybaee the ones in a dictatorship not realizing it.
In some of those countries they call tyrannical regimes with dictators, if you go visit you will find happy people, free to do as they please, #Bitcoin and other crypto is traded and mined tax free! The health system works and is free, paid by the state with the taxes so it is the education. Public transport and infrastructure are maintained and working great. So the government is not only is doing its job, but doing it well, I wish we have that level of efficiency.
Bottom line, no tyranny, state and private money are mixed but marginally, the same president for many years is not a reason to believe is a dictator, as in France, a president, if doing a good job, can be reelected multiple periods, which is efficient, if you run a company and the CEO is doing a good job you don't change him/her every 4 years just because that is better for democracy, it is not, it is better for corruption and the interests of the donors that want a different puppet in the chair working for them instead of the people.

Perhaps I am wrong, but I take the current situation with the high fees in the mempool as a good thing for few reasons:
1. More understanding that there are bad actors paid or with their own agendas that wants to hurt #Bitcoin
2. Realization that staying in Layer 1 is not an option running a business model that relays on #Bitcoin for retailing to the masses
3. Understanding that upgrading your business model to support LN⚡ is a must
4. More development is required to make the LN⚡more robust and the channels bigger, $300 to $400 won't cut it for B2B
5. New solutions are required in Layer 2, but they need to be decentralized or they will not take off. Competition is key for innovation, LN⚡is alone eating all the cake and therefore with little pressure to push forward, Michael Saylor is doing the ecosystem a service protecting his massive investment, in my opinion, he gets it and works on what is most required

#USA incompetent leaders, as any brainless idiotic bully will do, threatens #Uganda with economic "repercussions" (sanctions) if they pass their new proposed law criminalizing LGBT+...
First of all, if you are not Ugandan, what their lawmakers do with their countries is their responsibility and problem, their citizens need to deal with it for good or bad as any other country should do.... Independently if we like it or not.
The attitude of USA thinking they can rule the world is just sad, but the worst part is that they do it ,as any other bully, only to the small countries , Why they don't do the same to #Qatar or #SaudiArabia? Is LGBT+ legal in those What about Egypt or Morocco?
it is unbelievable that USA became a laughing stock so rapidly, and to fight a country that can flight back they hide behind another country and need their thugs buddies to help out...
The fall a super power suppose to be gradual, with the incompetent leaders they have, it is happening so fast it is hard ro keep up...

In my opinion, paid relays are gate keepers, if you are advocating them, you are not understanding what this tech is about, go to twitter.

Learn more about relays, and I suggest you stay away from paid relays as a filthy virus working slowly to penetrate the community and control it, by censoring what the "relays owners" believe you should read, watch and believe. As Twitter is doing right now.
Soon, as with PiHole, there will be community generated and updated filter list that we will be able to implement in our own relays and as well in the front apps itself as features
Clearly, few greedy elements of the community plus few bad apples will try to monetize big on the protocol instead to push for decentralization and user control, in my opinion, they are the enemy within

Finding people that post good content is not an easy task, most known figures and "influencers" post mainly non sense or uninteresting information most of the time, yet, they have many followers due to the fact that "they are known"
