I have not seen any scientific papers make that bold of a claim, either -- doomers are extrapolating that assertion from the data available. My guess is that papers arguing for literally-unstoppable feedback loops probably don't get published. Overall, the most correct doomers are asserting, using available data, that certain feedback loops can no longer be stopped. But harm reduction and mitigation are always possible, and this is where the fight is

Or that numbers can still be clinically significant with a truncated Y axis, because of how uniquely fucked up Omicron's peak was?
