So upsetting about Orana Wildlife Park here in #Ōtautahi #Christchurch.
Zoos were my favourite places as kid, but as I get older and learn more about them, the more I think they probably shouldn't be a thing anymore.
Local nature sanctuaries, yes. Petting zoos, yes, farms with maybe a few pheasants or peacocks, yes!

@npub16uk…pv7k whomst did you consult for solar panels? I got so far as determining we have good angles for sun, but our house has unsuitable tile roof, and our garage roof is OK.
Then a bunch of ppl gave me conflicting info on whether the cost of installing would pay for itself efficiently, and I stalled from indecision

Still in hospital, probably through tomorrow. I must remember not only to move my midsection carefully, but my right hand too, as they haven't removed the IV cannula yet and I keep going to fix my hair/reach for my book/etc and twinging it 😂

Literally the only people I know who are still dodging it have in common that they: mask in public, get boosted, avoid crowded indoor events, can work remotely, and don't have school-aged kids! Except one couple, who have a kid that they homeschool.

Just having a chai latte and a brownie by the Ōpāwaho River, heard a familiar cheeping in the trees, and saw a black-morph pīwakawaka flit into view, then take off while I was still too shocked to take a pic. 😮😂
I've never seen one in the wild! This is where I was in case anyone wants to try seeing it: view from the bench near the footbridge across to Radley Park.
