@nprofile…plfp @nprofile…772x I've read about the "Bell" experiment (possibly a centrifuge for fissile material?) and that Nazis might have found a shortcut to the Bomb which was heavily covered up.
If they had some sort of UFO electrostatic propulsion tech, it is surprising that they didn't bomb New York or DC at least once with it.
That sort of "magic" electrical tech has been alleged since Tesla and WW1, where death rays and force fields were supposed to turn the tide.

@nprofile…plfp Yes exactly. I also liked the not-Christmas. With the department store decorated for, well, something. Odin as Santa Claus, and all the trappings of Christmas, but Jesus has definitely left the building!
The Nazi high command with their video telephones - well, the Nazis actually had that. In 1936. It was not deployed because of the war, but they developed it. Good research.

@npub14g4…mc2e So the common element is not any particular religion or lack thereof. The common element is the beliefs that (a) your side is absolutely right, and anyone who disagrees is worthy of destruction, and (b) your side is culturally or racially just better than everyone else, and therefore deserves to own the world.
Those two ideas are the basis of "toxic nationalism" or whatever you want to call it.

@npub14g4…mc2e What did Stalin use to defeat Germany? What did America use to defeat Japan? Nationalism. Stalin did not say fight for Communism or fight for Stalin, but rather fight for Mother Russia.
There is a natural "our side bias" that comes into play when people feel under attack, and any tribe that doesn't have that will soon be extinct.
Tyrants can abuse this to launch aggressive wars, as Hitler did. He told the Germans they were the ones under attack when he was invading Poland.

@npub1f5h…wjhr that is a stage in the downfall of all empires, it would seem. A few years later the French decided to exchange dollars for gold, so the USA quit the gold standard.
Just think, there was a time when the UKP really was a pound of silver. Now it's a little coin the size of a quarter, and in practical use, worth about a dollar.

@npub1f5h…wjhr A Japanese balloon came down on power lines and knocked out the plutonium production for three days just before the A-bombs were dropped. The third bomb was awaiting its pit from what I've read. Did that balloon save Tokyo?
