@npub1r7e…mre3 I have iOS Android and AOSP devices, have been using them for years without any stability or security issues. No viruses either. Are you sure your description of Android is accurate?

@npub1g0t…tvm4 technology almost never gets it right the first time. It’s not the fault of technology. It’s a human weakness that we can never model a complex system in one go. It has to be iterative and we have to acknowledge that whatever system we produce will have issues and they need to be fixed.
It seems very weird to me that this was not the default state with Fujitsu systems. This is the default mindset in all projects I have worked in the it sector.
This also applies to nhs and any other organisation that thinks technology will solve all their problems.

@npub1g0t…tvm4 Horizon is one of a very long list of failures. It’s the coverup mentality that needs to be defeated not just for Horizon, but for all the public safety/sector failures we have seen the last few years.
Nobody gets punished they only move to their next gig, usually after having pocketed huge bonuses.

@npub1hvd…9sq9 hey Glenn, this is most likely a deflection move. Current state of things for the economy and the government is a huge mess so the media found a way to divert attention to this issue.
That is not to say that the issue is not real, but it is at the very least suspicious that nothing happened for 20 years apart from people being unfairly convicted and now suddenly everyone realised the error of their ways.

@npub1dgc…4yrt lots of journalists judge fediverse with terms of corporate growth and as such it may fail to grow as fast as various other corporate services, but they forget it’s not a corporation, it’s a constellation of communities. Their metrics are wrong and so is their analysis.

@npub1g0t…tvm4 they will raise interest rates no matter what. Also the pain is still ahead of us, the rates won’t come down any time soon. We are in for a few years of high interest rates that will filter through the system. Businesses will fail because of this and people will suffer

@npub1alq…mnj6 hey Richard, nice article. One point though, most fediverse platforms allow people to export their social graph when moving to another instance. I don’t think Meta will be too keen on that.

@npub12lx…jvjy my friend, mastodon is a failure. A failure i tell you. This has been decided by the internet sages ( journalists with big ego) 😆
