The AudioFiction Namespace
Interesting thoughts that are specific to UK Audio Fiction.
I would say that many of these ideas rhyme with existing Podcast Namespace tags or are variations of existing tags.
If you changed the <podcast:medium> tag to "fiction", "audio drama", or "audiobook" then why couldn't these tag ideas be part of a new proposal within the Podcast Namespace?
I think the Podcast Namespace would welcome these ideas.

I have a Breez wallet which was not difficult to get.
Why can't I travel with my own wallet and connect it with my PC 2.0 app (e.g. Podcast Guru, Fountain, TrueFans)? Or use Breez instead of something created by my PC 2.0 host?
What is the connector piece I'm missing that prevents a listener and/or podcaster from using wallets like Breez?
Is Breez not set up to make that work? Or is it something else?

Or do I need to register the GUID with OP3 first?

Right now I'm troubleshooting my Firebase Cloud Function that would auto submit a new podcast to the index.
I have it working for an existing podcast that adds a new episode. About 10-20 minutes after they submit I see the episode appear in the index.
What I don't know is will this endpoint work if the podcast is new and submits its very first episode to the index.
Does that cause an error if the podcast is NOT in the index?

When I add a new podcast episode to a podcast, I can now auto-hit the endpoint and return:
"Feed marked for immediate update."
Question: If the podcast is NEW and has NEVER been in Podcast Index before, does the endpoint return something different?
Or is the response the same but the action behind the scenes is different?

I'm guessing the price. I'm still using Deepgram for Oncetold ver 1.1.0-alpha.3 auto transcripts. Takes about 15 seconds to get a Transcript that started at 80% but has gotten better and better over time.
Right now Deepgram cost from my last Transcript a few days ago:
Audio duration: 00:35:52
Cost: $0.52031
But they gave me $200 in credits to kick the tires. In 6 months I still have $71 left over.

But when I tried to automate this with a Cloud Function, I hit a road block with a 401 error.
This led me down the API Keys read/write route but @npub1ln5…xyw6 mentioned using PI hub endpoint and podping it out. Is that the same thing or will a Cloud Function need to use a different approach?

Is there a resource for understanding how I can automate posting new podcasts created in my hosting SaaS to Podcast Index?
I can manually do it in the browser using the PI API endpoint (api.podcastindex.org) but I'm not having any luck with GET requests (401 errors) or Podping (503 errors) using a Firebase Cloud Function.
I think I'm missing something.

If I submit the add/byfeedurl using a browser, I can see the JSON response come back. That works!
However, If I do the same action from a Firebase Cloud Function, I get an HTTP error! Status: 401.
Do I need the R/W API Key if I want to do this from my app?
Exploring the podping route next... Undiscovered Country!

I believe the magic Transcript Engine in Fountain is from Deepgram (deepgram.com).
Turned out to be very easy to set up. I built a Firebase Cloud Function that reached out to the Deepgram API and returns both a JSON and SRT transcript between 15sec - 60secs.
I believe Deepgram is using OpenAI Whisper in the backend...

@npub1ln5…xyw6 Hey Dave -- I'm playing with the Podcast Index API and keep running into a problem. I have a Podcast Index API key (Read Only) and I had assumed that this is my "API Secret Key".
However, I cannot find the public key that works for "authHeader = sha1(apiKey+apiSecret+unixTime)".
What key am I missing?
