David Nixon: Back to the MAC (Part 2): The Signal in the Noise
"I had heard from one of my regular meeting attendees that the MAC addresses with a packet interval of 2000ms belonged to people. … So I filtered for those. Then I recalculated entropy. And suddenly, the noise dropped away.
Among the filtered results, three MAC addresses stood out immediately. All three shared not only an entropy score of exactly 2.754, but also an identical broadcast interval of 2000ms — and that’s where it gets strange. When I overlaid their bitfields, something impossible happened: Bits 2 through 6 in Byte 1 formed a rotating 5-bit field. In MAC #1, the value was 24 (11000). In MAC #2, it rotated cleanly to 7 (00111). In MAC #3, it landed on 10 (01010). That’s not drift. That’s sequencing. Each of the five bits flipped twice across the three addresses — no randomness, no entropy drift, no byte overflow. It’s as if the system was stepping through a page index — mechanically, predictably, and in perfect sync.”

yeah I like your take on it, I was thinking a very simple API like client requests relay’s metadata - response shows supported NIPs etc. and then some general-purpose key:value interface for arbitrary data?
Something small that could still be put behind an npub interacting via NOSTR itself as the interface, eventually, i.e. silent DM the relay API queries and commands, ecash 🥜 optional 🤔

100% of my GitHub has been private Mon-Fri the last 5 years, so my public code will take a while as I’m back in private doing org founder stuff 🤪 but to put goNDK into context and TODO:
To date it’s all high-level naming, structure, ci-ready and add test coverage … refactoring-splicing what I found to be the #Golang best-of-market example NOSTR client and server implementations
Once finished and integrated, I’ll be switching to focus on new types and interfaces, .With() functional options and 1..N examples for each

I’m looking for a Backend / Platform role in the Bitcoin or NOSTR space.
Took a few months break from work while I had major surgery, been working on goNDK and more recently a React/Ts PWA backed by API micro-services, integrating with NOSTR next for local, private communities… but it looks like I won’t be able to sustain it for more than a few months (revenue still a way off, knee-deep I’m infra and foundations).
