We've been arguing for this for such a long time! One more call for #reproducibility in research: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2772368224001227?dgcid=rss_sd_all. We could have saved a tonne of time of academics/researchers and publishers just put their data and models out instead of only results. #FAIR4RS #research #openscience

In #orgmode, does anyone have an elegant solution to store fold states of the org file? The two pieces I have found are https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/orgfold.el and https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/orgfold-separate-file.el. I do like both approaches, but is there a way to store them in a single consolidated file rather than littering the folder with the .folds (especially with org-roam involved) or with modifying the org file with a tag.

I finally cobbled together a better version of an init file for #Emacs, and it was a joy to use #orgmode for the process. I'd really appreciate any feedback on this init file, and pointers to doing this better. The repository is available at https://codeberg.org/bmp/forgemacs. I decided to put it all together in one big file as it is easier for me to search for packages I am using in a single place rather than go through multiple files, or even forget which file had which package.

Well, I finally found a non-vanity use-case for transparency in #emacs! I've been using it to take notes on video calls for the last couple of weeks. It works well for me as I don't have to switch windows, position windows side-by-side, etc.
