@npub1ywr…t0lz’s awesome talk at Web Directions code mentioned that CSS was not initially intended to be a tool for handling layout. Which, I’ve gotta say, is surprising 🤯 but also not that surprising.
Check out where it’s mentioned in appendix E of CSS level 1:
“CSS1 does not offer:
