It's worth noting that many of these towers live on maunga that were #Māori land before they were acquired by the Post Office under the Public Works Act, before it became Telecom and ultimately Spark. It comes up as a centrepiece of most of our discussions, but the CivSoc voices just don't seem to carry the same weight as governments and platforms. We can try though.

I'm representing the Wellington Abrahamic Council of Jews, Christians, and Muslims, alongside ICANN, Institute for Strategic Dialog, Dangerous Speech project, Article18, Inclusive Aotearoa, academics, et al - a very broad group.
The main issue from my point of view is power asymmetry - the governments and platforms have a lot more than civil society.
