Waiting to adopt Swift concurrency makes a lot of sense. Actively using Swift concurrency with warnings off does not.

Not something you need every day, but can be useful when integrating concurrency with older APIs.

I made a thing and it's very weird! A NoSQL-inspired local persistence system.
Your types define the database schema, including type-safe query functions. All generated with macros and built for Swift 6. Very much still a work-in-progress, but I thought it would be fun to share.

I still cannot get over it. Xcode getting EditorConfig support AND directory-based compilation. I could cry.
Everyone using local packages take note. Static libs are far more powerful, and their biggest downside is now gone.

Got a great question about keeping some code compatible with complete checking both off and on. It is hitting a very tricky case involving a compiler bug with default values. Here's a little explaination along with a possible solution.
A nonisolated init is one of those things that just keeps coming up as a useful trick.

Here's an easy mistake to make: putting your weak self check at the beginning of a Task body when iterating over an AsyncSequence.
Instead, you want to check within the for-await loop, so you don't tie the lifecycle of self to the potentially-infinite sequence.

This is a fantastic question!
Pro: actors protect all their state!
Con: all input and output to the actor must be Sendable *and* async too!
Those cons are huge. And you often don't need to protect state so granularly anyways. I often reach for actors last, and only when I have a clear idea of why I need it.

I’ve been thinking more deeply about the upcoming Swift 6 changes. Just a huge amount of additions, tweaks, and improvements to concurrency. It’s going to be almost unrecognizable. So many new patterns will be possible - my head is spinning 😅
