I get why women want a separate space from men for a restroom (bears are safer), but if a woman used a men's bathroom (with stalls, not a single pot and a sink in a room) and washed hands next to me on her way out, I'd take zero issue with that. Wouldn't even comment on it. If the other one is full, and we're not, it'd be silly to wait.
The stall doors are sufficient for privacy, peeking over or under is not cool short of a medical issue. (Someone passed out? By all means, help.)
