Real life holds all the evidence. Of course you must first get to know the historical before you can recognize it in the present. Something that you not have done yet. Aren't you in Indonesia? Many things are funny, but not all are true. That this claim is funny is also subjective to you, and you are not the arbiter of truth. It's funny to you, that doesn't mean anything.
The continuous existence of the Orthodox Church, also known as the Catholic Church (officially) is nothing but evidence that in the Orthodox Church you find the Church of Christ, surviving wave after wave of attack, abuse, persecution, and violence by the hands of the world and those who are of this world.
The Franks (aka Latins) who inherited the Church in the West (through violence) did not understand the spirit, essence, and purpose of Christianity. And this blot still remains embedded in the faulty and contradicting theology of Western Christianity today.

The Greco-Roman spirit died when Rome fell, what exist in the East now is the the accumulation of Greek Christian spirit imbued with Eastern philosophies.

Furthermore, we Orthodox do not consider Patriarchs the equivalent of a Pope (popes occupy a position of power similar to the Pagan Roman High Priests). Our Patriarchs are fallible human beings, servants and members of the body of Christ, the Orthodox Church, and each body part has its own position to fill. Some are called to lead, some to follow. If you want to be first, prepare to be last. The Orthodox Church is not of this world.

@npub1dph…t7jj first of all he can't even remember in what book he read it, or whether Belloc wrote that at all, making it just another opinion on the internet. Second, there is no reason given to the main point. The Great Schism was a self-inflicted wound by German interests in the West. Third, it contradicts direct words of Belloc about European roots being Mediterranean (which is true). Finally, Belloc was a Catholic, it would be weird to expect him to demand a return to Orthodoxy; but, him being a learned man, it would not be surprising for him to demand a return to the Greco-Roman legacy, which is fully preserved in Orthodoxy as it encapsulates Eastern Roman spirit and tradition.

Election and democracy fatigue have become widespread and almost the norm in dissident circles. But recent elections in Georgia and Austria show that elections still matter, even for dissident (far right) voices.
In Austria, the FPÖ campaigned with remigration (another word for mass deportation of foreigners) and won the general election last month. This prompted the president of Austria to bypass the winning FPÖ and give the second placed ÖVP the right to form a government, against all decency and tradition. While this may seem to refute elections all together, it has already created a Streisand effect with recent polls showing even higher support for the FPÖ.
In Georgia, the populist party Georgian Dream achieved yesterday (today?) an absolute majority win with over 53% of the votes. The party addressed the people of Georgia with a speech denouncing Ukraine, denouncing self-crippling sanctions against Russia, and the anti-democratic LGBT propaganda peddled by black NGOs in secrecy against the will of the people. This prompted the US-aligned opposition to make the odd counterclaim that they won, already preparing protests in the spirit of color revolutions. The new Georgian president meanwhile called for nuclear cooperation between Georgia, Belarus, and Russia.
If the tragedy of the Ukrainian Maidan in 2014 taught us one thing, it's that election results matter, but if the US Deep State doesn't like them, then color revolution it is. Remember Nuland handing out cookies in Kiev? The wrong party came to power. Yanukovych in 2013, while pro-EU and US, insisted on Ukrainian neutrality towards all sides, resisting to choose sides. This triggered the call for the USDS--represented by McCain, Nuland, the Soros foundation, and Biden--to correct that result, in the form of the Euromaidan coup.
