Yeah, there’s great engagement with bitcoiners here but Nostr will be truly powerful when there is a widespread of voices using the protocol… imagine the way Twitter blew up during the Arab Spring when people realised that they could mass organise and communicate in spite of State control.

Nostr in action is a damn cool concept. Zaps, transferability, decentralisation - there’s a lot to live. And it’s great seeing all these Bitcoiners in one song, but bearishly, I wonder does this mean that we are all singing into an echo chamber and an echo chamber that’s arrived before it’s time?
The beauty of Twitter was that orange pilled plebs could find voices that connected with their reasoning and aptitude. Does nostr require you to already have that reasoning and aptitude and thus lead to newcomers becoming shitcoiners because they can’t hear the tune?

Man, I first heard of bitcoin in 2010-11 in a bar in Spain and couldn’t really get my head around how to get any, then forgot about it until 2016-17. Stupidly bought the narrative that Bitcoin was tech that would get superseded by something like Ripple, Eth and Stellar. Held onto those shitcoins until 2021 when I started to actually explore bitcoin properly - I realised that there must be something to this thing if it’s not going away. The decentralisation and non-hierarchy speaks to my politics. Wish I’d paid attention earlier though.

Someone ELI5 #ordinals to me:
I inscribe a picture on a sat and then pay for that transaction on the mempool. How is that say not still just one sat?
Why would anyone pay more sats for that one sat? Especially in a finite currency like bitcoin.
And what happens if all the sats have pictures on them and you’re trading sats with pics for sats with pics? Isn’t that just like trading cards in a playground?
What if I get a sat with a pic on it in a payment and I don’t want it? Can I delete that pic?
Is this just like drawing dicks on a dollar note?
