And so in my head, I might make it to 14, and that was going to be it. I think people underestimate how having that hanging over our heads influenced us, and how traumatic that's making the current world state as a result.

Don't EVER let *anyone* convince you that autism means a lack of empathy. It's usually quite the reverse.
