My little electronics projects have always been a tangle of wires, soldered and stuffed into boxes. One of my 2025 goals is to learn how to design and manufacture a few custom electronic PCBs. @npub1l8q…f4up On my HP Reverb G2, the headset picks up my heartbeat through my temples and scalp. Causes a noticeable bouncing tick in the display. I had to get a 3rd party tool to turn down the movement prediction, and I wonder if Apple will allow similar adjustments to their movement sensitivity.

@npub16mz…hm5n Built a gaming PC specifically for MS FlightSim VR. It's incredibly immersive.
For quick pick-up games, every new course released for Walkabout Mini Golf is like its own little theme park. Their newest course is in collaboration with experience/artist collective Meow Wolf, and it's wonderful!

This "texture healing" technique is really impressive. It uses OpenType’s contextual alternate glyphs, usually seen in stylistic embellishments such as swash caps or ligatures. With Monaspace, they dynamically adjust the widths of characters in a MONOSPACED face, while still respecting the monospace grid. It's pretty wild. The website has a neat interactive step-by-step visualization on how it works. Also, comes in 5 faces!

My absolute favorite twin engine for #FlightSim, the FlySimWare Cessna 414 Chancellor, is on sale for a few days. Could not recommend this aircraft enough, it's systems are all impeccably modeled.

Eventually, everyone that plants rhubarb has to ask, "what the hell am I going to do with all of this rhubarb?" So we're trying a few new things. Rhubarb shrub (drinking vinegar) and rhubarb ice cream. Both seem to be viable options to add to the recipe rotation. #gardening
