it's for "windows and macintosh" computers, and i'm using linux, which means that i can see everything, but can't use any of it.
because of the fact that it says "Mac system 6.0 or higher", and "Windows 3.1, 95, 98, or NT", even if i could see what's on the "Browser CD", it still uses some sort of proprietary system to make sure that you pay for the fonts before you can actually use them for anything...
do you still think that uploading essentially "mystery CDs" would do anything?

i have a set of CDs from AGFA/Monotype called "Creative Alliance 9.0", which, allegedly, has 7000+ truetype and type 1 fonts on three disks, however the disks no longer work to retrieve anything... is it possible that diskmaster has the unencoded information? or, conversely, can i submit the CDs for evaluation?

i recall a similar device i came across 30+ years ago, which was a device that made dynamic lists of fake email addresses on a page that had lots of internal links, designed to ensnare spam-harvesting bots. this looks very similar... 👍👍

my wife (the hospital manager for the clinic) has three laptops from her clinic, which she wants to donate to a local old folks home. she wants me to wipe them and reinstall a fresh version of windows before they are donated.
i say, why not install ubuntu instead of windows? the interface can be made almost identical, ubuntu has better support for older machines, and, instead of having to pay for support, it would be free.
but, she says, nobody knows how to use linux... 😒
what would you do?

problem is, i tried to die, i really did... but doctors had other plans. so, now, i have to live with a disability that kills most of the people that have it, i used to be predominantly right-handed, now i am predominantly left-handed, i am no longer able to do the things that gave me joy before, and i constantly have to listen to people tell me how "lucky" i am. 😒

@npub1gzd…wfsq @npub138d…rmyg making cool sounds and heavy theory are not mutually exclusive, and, in my case, anyway, made making cooler sounds a lot more quickly much closer to reality. one of my first major projects was analogue vocoder synthesis, which i could not have understood, or attempted, without some pretty heavy theoretical understanding, as well.

@npub1gzd…wfsq @npub138d…rmyg your approach to teaching synthesis is WAY different than it was when i was first learning about it, almost 50 years ago. it was really fun to hook up two huge analogue oscillators to an equally huge oscilloscope and watch how adjusting one of them made the waveform change. now, the equipment are all apps that fit in your pocket, and there are no patch cords. say what you will about digital audio, there was an essential pleasure in using patch cords. 😉
