OK, #FediHams, I believe I'm ready for a one-vs-one test of the battleship.py game.
I need a volunteer. Must be able to run a Python 3 script. Must be a Dropbox user (we'll test other sharing schemes later).
We'll need to figure out a convenient way to send salvos back and forth, but does not NEED to be via #HamRadio just for testing. But if you'd prefer a ham method, let's pick something sure-fire, e.g. WiresX or APRS.
Partial & interrupted games/sessions encouraged.

Here's a #HamRadio idea that goes a bit beyond radio.
Audio can be used to modulate movement/wiggle of a laser, or intensity. Spies can point a laser at your window & hear you talk inside your house, from across the street.
So, point a laser at a water tower a mile away, modulate it with FT8 or PSK31 tones, & someone else with a camera decodes it.
Possible?

There’s evidence, and then there’s evidence. They are not the same.

Came across a story recently that in Canada they did an autopsy of 23 unexplained deaths, including some children. There were several cases of negative-Covid-test victims that had a very high viral load in the lungs, but none in the nasal passages or throat.
The virus migrates to the lungs.
Just because you have a negative test does NOT mean you do not still have Covid.
Remember Shingles? Yeah, I "don't have Chicken Pox anymore" either. And yet... I kinda do.

In THEORY, the #ActivityPub #Plugin for #WordPress is a wonderful idea.
In practice, I have not seen it actually work even once.
I'm able to find my WP user from here in the mastodon.hams.social web UI, and can "Follow". But it doesn't show my headshot AVI - a plain WP logo instead.
Then, after doing said follow, I switch to WP and make a post. Come back here - do I see that post? Hell no.
So I DM from masto to WP. Does that DM show UP anywhere? Nope.
It dances around the edge of working.

Someone should completely disable the algo, so Elon’s TL gets every tweet in real time. It never stops scrolling. It zips by so fast he can barely catch a word here and there.

Perhaps. Let's say I completely agree.
Nonetheless, you're still going to use email. So that's settled.
Now then, do you want your messages stored-at-rest someplace that anyone-at-google can read? Or someplace that run of the mill darkweb dorks can get at?
Can't do everything, so I do what I think does the *most* for what I'm willing/able to pay.
And I like not being advertised-at based on the content of my email. That's just... icky.

True enough, though I do have a small group of closely trusted people who also use protonmail. Betwixt us, email can be somewhat secure. (This use case does not fit all, of course.)
I can also send encrypted (req. password) to anyone. They get a notification in via email, but they don't get the message. They have to come to protonmail.com to enter pw & view message.
Who U mean by "security services"? 'Cuz I'm pretty sure they do not have a way to snoop into protonmail.

1. I've had good luck with Thunderbird on many OSes.
2. I've had great luck with protonmail... which is not just switching clients, but switching to an entire secure system. It's not that I wholly trust Switzerland, but as I trust anything US less and less, my trust of a Swiss company goes up by comparison.
