I am on the side aisle seat on a 777 tonight and I regret to inform you that aurora colors were only really visible so far at sunset. Rowmate has the shade up. It doesn't appear to be vibrant yet, but we'll be flying close to the North Pole as the night goes on.

One of the reasons why I majored in Political Science in undergrad was because of the action and intra-party politics of the D and R conventions of the 80s/90s. I always was fascinated by it.
Anyway, according to Jeff Greenfield, the last true floor fight was in 1976, at the R convention between Ford and Reagan. Much before some of us were politically aware.
