I almost forgot. This “scooter park” thing arrived at my kids’ school, and looks awesome!

Non-clinical people are also essential to the functioning of the system. From porters to domestics to the HR and IT depts. They ALL need to be there, and all need adequate resources 💙

The NHS ate my wife again.
She started work at 07:30… she got home at 22:00, exhausted, in tears.
And that’s normal.
Because there are not enough staff.
There are not enough staff because the conditions are shit. And the pay is jokes. And the expectations insane.
And the answer from Starmer… “cut waiting times by efficiency savings”. My dude, there is nothing left to squeeze.

@npub1g0t…tvm4 as a banker (well, someone who works for a bank) I quite enjoy getting a bonus. But also it’s stupid and arbitrary and regressive and all predicated on the whims of senior management and perceived performance. It reinforces bias and causes much anxiety among workers.
I’d rather we were all not paid a bonus and had our salaries levelled out - with those on lower pay being bumped heavily to reduce the gap.

So my 8yo asked me how my parents were able to afford such a big house (beautiful 6 bedroom Victorian pile).
I explained that when they bought it, in 1990 it cost £250,000 … and that when we bought *our* modest 3 bedroom 20s semi in 2017 it cost… £250,000. (ish)
And then discussed inflation and fictitious value.
So she says “why can’t we say that houses cost less again” and indeed why can’t we. If we combined some hard regulation of house pricing with debt forgiveness, it could work.
