@npub1g0t…tvm4 @npub15zu…s7lx Anecdotally, within nursing/care field I did hear Indian/Asian workers saying similar...they thought Brexit would improve opportunities for migrants from their countries, instead of favouritising Europeans.

I'm annoyed that the wife of a friend of a family member has invited herself along for the visit to my dying mother tomorrow. These last moments with her should be SOLELY for family IMO. I will struggle to be polite...I may just not say anything at all, except to talk to mum. It's a crass intrusion on our grief.

@npub1trd…ussx Yes, I know all about 'properly funded public infrastructure' etc, but the article was specifically about 100 very rich people wanting to pay more tax...tax which can/is often misused by those in power...therefore donating that amount on a regular basis for local/national infrastructure is a much more guaranteed way for it to reach the parts gov taxes don't.

Next door's dog has been barking hysterically ALL day...running in and out of the house frantically...whilst their mum/mum-in-law just carries on putting wet washing out, having a cig and watering a few pots. There's been a lot of FFS out loud from me, and STFU FFS too. Even neighbouring dogs have stopped barking in response.

#[0] #[1] As I periodically go through phases of reading post-apocalyptic novels, I understand that everything electronic would cease to work...from mobiles/laptops, modern cars, water pumping stations, power stations etc...so, in less than a week the whole of western civilisation would totally fall apart (bar the Amish, Native Americans and maybe other off-gridders).
