Last week, I successfully broke free from the vendor-locked and rather limited Apple smart home ecosystem and jumped straight into the rabbit hole of Home Assistant, running on a VM inside of my NAS with Zigbee and Bluetooth dongles sticking out of it. Did you know that nesting <h1> in the article, aside, nav, or section elements decreases its font-size? Well, not anymore in Firefox Nightly. It’s still an experiment for now, but it’s time for the last remaining of the HTML outline to go 👋

@npub1xed…yg9w The feedback form works fine for all kinds of issues with this widget. Feel free to use it! In this case, two sources of data (BCD for the table and web-features for the banner) are correct. But the way they’re represented on the banner is misleading. We at MDN know this issue and are working on fixing it.

@npub1wkx…jlrc I try to avoid inlining SVG until I actually need it for styling. Unfortunately, “inlining to HTML” sometimes means bloating your JS bundle if the markup is client-side generated. Now headings on my website are nicely balanced with text-wrap: balance in Firefox, too. Also in Firefox 121: lazy-loading iframes, ✨:has, text-indent on steroids (hanging + each-line), etc.

@npub1xed…yg9w I’ve been told there’s a plan to release official Baseline resources and guidelines via the WebDX community group soon. So, it might be worth waiting a bit to align with the official style guide. Meanwhile, nothing should stop you from creating a web component in your design if you like 😉

#[0] It clearly shows that we need a universal property that controls text decoration lines. I remember not being happy about strikethrough rendering (thickness and position), but also I'd love to be able to change its color.
