Lost my wallet this afternoon in Sidney BC. If this were twitter-of-old, I could reasonably tag this with where I lost it ( #Sidney #SidneyBC #yyj #VictoriaBC) and hope that someone might see it and reconnect me with it. But, sadly, I don't think fediverse has quite the same level of reach. And I'm certainly not signing up to facebook or whatever to try asking there.
Hopefully someone found it and did something reasonable, like dropping it in the post.

@npub1az9…swru I've set mine up so that it applies a red colour filter (with a tiny bit of blue in order to make certain things visible). Allegedly it will help with night vision & might encourage natural sleepiness.
Also, I added a siri shortcut - I keep renaming it. Currently, it is "Hey Siri, red alert" and "Hey siri, cancel red alert".
Doesn't show up in screenshots, though, so I can't grab an example. Heh.

Hmm, Zapier just updated their TOS to include wording about AI stuff. They seem to be very explicit about the fact that the training stuff is for internal use only, not resale.

This is for FOSS/self-hostable projects, of course. For a company that wants to bring their product to the fediverse, things would be much different - and they would likely already have a crackerjack moderation team.

I have a suspicion that the right way to develop a project for fedi is to start small, build it in relative obscurity - with a single community server to act as a demo.
Then, if the demo reaches some level of criticality, the appropriate actions are either:
A) Turn it off. Gently, of course.
B) Lock it so that no new signups are allowed.
C) Spin it off as a separate entity, likely a co-operative.
This will encourage the project to grow, and will separate development from community management.

By my calculations, this year is the year we should have been introduced to "Firefly: The Next Generation", with a swanky ship, and costumes that need much improvement. And an all new cast, but with some cameos from the original cast (much-aged by makeup). And a producer/creator/writer who has some rather antiquated viewpoints in some respects (yet not in others), who eventually gets pushed to the side so his creation can live forever as a Brand.
