We know subscription models work. But media sources that seek to punish viewers by denying them full access to a story without a subscription cut off their noses to spite their faces because unless it's an exclusive the viewer can find the story elsewhere for free and will share it, thereby driving traffic to that site, traffic that forced subscription prevents itself from getting because viewers aren't posting links to them. So subscriptions are self-defeating.

@npub19kr…8m4r It went beyond that noted cringe as Tapper, others suddenly had 'a new angle' on their newscasts. Yes, it was short-lived, and they did the right thing. But after having defended CNN in the past, I am not comfortable doing so today. Darcy still had his grief and duress. As I seek to aggregate valid news, CNN only makes the cut if no other outlet has the story. That's more than fair. If they scoop it, they get the attention. They knew better than to hold that event, yet persisted.

@npub19kr…8m4r They lost followers when they gave Trump free airtime with an "offer" he said he couldn't refuse. Then when the backlash came they tried to prop themselves up as having done the right thing and actually began moving in the direction of complementing the egregious act with backup stories from their most respected journalists. You can evaluate whatever select version you want, but there's a cost to radically biasing your news organization that stays even after the boss is gone. #CNN

I still try not to post CNN stuff. Depends if they are the only one carrying it, but otherwise there are more reputable, trustworthy outlets that will carry it.

So if I run a business as a gay believer, I can legally refuse to offer services to religious hypocrites and corrupt politicians because it goes against my conscience to offer services to people Jesus frequently exposed as wicked sinners.
Mike Pence could be at the bar ordering a Shirley Temple and I could legally tell him to go elsewhere to get it because serving his kind goes against my religious beliefs.
