I’m looking for a new bike after not really riding for ~10 years. I’m coming from a Surly Crosscheck and rode to commute and for fun. I ride only paved trails and roads and am not interested in racing/touring/camping. A little lighter would be nice, a bit super aggressive reach, and am willing to build up from a frameset. I love that the Godzilla/Kong movies employ the Hollow Earth theory, which was a real theory in the 17th century that you could enter a tube-like space at the poles.
