So I've just noticed that #Disneyplus has removed a load of it's older films from the service with no warning. Buggers up my Disney marathon something chronic and means I'm going to have to source them from less reputable sites. A real shame that their back catalogue is now so limited. My wife was rewatching a bunch of films from the 70s so she's going to be miffed to. Not cool #Disney not cool.

Went to see my daughter in her school production of #TheLionKing last night. She was amazing, obviously, but - having been in and put on lots of school productions myself - I couldn't help but have 'notes' on the production.
But we also discovered that one of the parents is Dom of 'Dick and Dom in da Bungalow'.

@npub1vpr…n5tn We watched the first series after it had ended as we hadn't thought of watching it until the hype around it intrigued us. That meant we never had to torture ourselves. But this series we can't wait for each new episode!
Last night both my wife and I were screaming at the screen!! 😂

@npub1vpr…n5tn It's Wed-Fri which means an agonising wait from Friday through the Wednesday. We've taken to sometimes waiting a day to watch an episode so we can watch at least the first 10 minutes of the next episode and have the cliffhanger resolved.

@npub1fwu…5vnm I need to listen to the original Eleven audios. Big Finish seem rather in love with the character (in all their iterations) and I've yet to understand the appeal when I have heard them in stories.

@npub1vpr…n5tn We came to it late last year after the buzz had made us intrigued enough to watch and binged the lot.
We're watching more or less on broadcast this year but my wife hates cliffhangers and so we have to have the next episode ready to watch so we can find out the resolution and then leave the rest of the episode for thee next day.
Haven't watched any other versions - US versions of shows (like Drag Race) tend to leave us cold as they are often nastier than the UK ones.

We're not huge fans of reality TV in general but my goodness, The Traitors is superb television! So many twists and turns - genuinely rivetting.

I know. The substack thing was a bit of an experiment as I'd seen other people using it and fancied trying it out to see if I could get more readership (it hasn't worked....). I have three main blogs - the history of the universe main one, a Disney one and one for books (which started during the 50th anniversary!!). They all used to be on blogger before I moved them over.
If I had your technical know how (or my brother's), they'd probably all be on one site.

@npub1vpr…n5tn @npub1ux0…aw4u I think his comment answering why all the Doctors don't just turn up is a valid one because he is right. Why didn't the Doctor help Sarah Jane out? Why did he let Torchwood deal with the aliens in Children of Earth in what was a hugely traumatic situation. Why didn't a load of Doctors arrive to sort the Master out when he was ruling over the entire Earth for a year. There's always been Doctors out there - so having more doesn't change it.

@npub1ey8…rwac I really must rewatch Farscape. My wife and I have owned the Peacekeeper Wars for about 15 years and have never actually got around to watching it! I also think there are episodes of the series I never actually saw, particularly around Season 2/3.

Enjoyed last night's #DoctorWho and also enjoying the inevitable fury of fans who had decided it was going to be a multi-Doctor fanwank fest and are now very disappointed.
I also can't quite believe the voices that are accusing it of being 'filler'. Two great actng talents carrying an entire episode themselves.. Amazing effects. Scary and surreal scenes.
Heaven Sent is lauded for being just Capaldi on screen and yet this is 'filler'. Fans are idiots sometimes.

Obviously the 'three years' dig is referencing the Chibnall era which more or less tells us everything we need to know. Doctor Who was great, is great and will continue to be great. The reason - it never bothers to worry about what a minority of so-called 'fans' think about it. It just gets on with telling brilliant stories about adventures in time and space.

With two kids (well, they're both in secondary school now so not so much kids) I've seen a lot of children's films - although to be honest my wife and I possibly seek them out more than more mature fair as we're both big Disney fans anyway. Paddington is almost perfect in casting, direction, script - the lot. Paddington 2 is just as good and has one of Hugh Grant's oddest yet greatest turns as the baddie.
