This is the only way I use gpt when writing. After I've finished all my editing, I run it through chat and ask the machine to explain the story, characters, and literary techniques back to me. If it can describe what I'm trying to say, I must have inserted what I wanted in the text.
Critical to this is identifying the work to the bot as "a new novel from an unknown author". It blows smoke up your ass if it knows the work is yours.

I thought everybody knew phones don't really turn off, but I keep hear people online countering good protest security advice with "just turn it off".
"Off" is best described as a low-power state, even for Android. The radio (which has a built-in CPU) isn't disconnected from the battery.
What should you do with your phone if you're protesting or whatever? Leave it at home; or put it in a tested Faraday bag if you take it with you.

In his new novel _Everything is Fine at Disney_, Doctorow explores a utopia where personal rights are eternally guaranteed by a digital chip implanted in the spine. But when people around him suddenly cannot hear his voice, Caesar is terrified to learn that his Rights Management Module has failed and his civil liberties are unlicensed.
But he's got a hole card to rebuild his life: a towering file cabinet of hard-copy EULAs. That's certainly not as convenient as a chip.

I also started writing UF with queer characters because of the state of mainstream UF. Same reason I put female-centric, pleasure-oriented sex into my fiction as well: I'm so fucking tired of how feminine sexuality is presented in UF.
I'm finding more and more people who feel the same and it's awesome.

My writing is unappologetically provocative, confrontational, and defiant. I'm writing *about* politics made personal, although I never preach--I'm way more show than tell.
Hell, my inspiration for my debut novel was basically: right wingers keep saying queer anarchists are evil, what if one of us really made a deal with the devil?

Worked in software for 20 years, open source for most of it, but for the last 10 years of my career I did medical software.
If you're in the us... There is *no way* "LibreOffice and a browser" fulfills regulations around electronic medical records, unless you're saying their EMR system is web based and they just need a client.

Something I'll add:
Vocational awe also extends to many people who entered STEM with real interest. Spending your whole life pursuing one avenue of research means you'll have to work wherever they'll pay for that research.
This is a theme I explore in my upcoming novel, which focuses on systemic exploitation of high-knowledge workers and one scientist's enraged reaction to it.

I don't use AI tools myself, but moralizing individual usage is the new "don't use plastic straws". It shames the individual for systemic failures. Artists aren't losing money because your DM generated NPC portraits. Artists are losing money because 5 corporations control 90% of media.
