My controversial hot take:
People so wrapped up in "no restrictions on field of use" for OpenSource are stuck in the same logic as people who say Nazis and racists should be able to say whatever they want in public.
Popper's Tolerance Paradox, Nazi Bar problem... Whatever you want to call it.
Hyperscalers parasitizing and monopolizing revenue of FOSS projects is NOT OK.
Sure sure, I know, FOSS is not a business model. Keep ignoring the problem and we will end up with much less #FOSS

If you were going to pave a box and put Linux on it, which distro would you choose? Try to answer NOT from a place of what you're most comfortable with.
I am leaning towards #Fedora because I work with containers and it's a very friendly and kind community. I am tempted by #archlinux after experiencing a constrained version on my #steamdeck.
Using #ubuntu on my work laptop and it just feels bleh. Nothing particularly wrong just nothing to inspire my use.

@npub17ge…hgsu bleh - I know it kinda goes against the fediverse but at the same time it makes it harder for me to find stuff I care about. For example - I want to see if people are talking about QDRANT vector database or even just vector databases. Almost nothing comes up. I don't believe that result

@npub1w7a…tpn3 makes sense, thanks. I guess my confusion is people talk about the fediverse as if it's a thing. By analogy, If it is, then either it is just "any service that uses smtp as a protocol" or I am really missing something.

@npub1w7a…tpn3 I know you said the activitypub spec was frozen but it seems like there are some flaws that might need to be addressed. Can you point me to some writings on how the spec or the tech can be improved to do a better job at preventing this
